Advice on 5* leveling

Mods please let me leave this here first for better exposure.

So today is the day, the day that I draw my 13th Phoenix cover to put her at 5/3/5. It's even more incredible that she's maxed out considering none of my other 5*s are above 4 covers. So now I officially join the ranks of those who potentially have to sell a 5* cover. Totally not looking forward to that.

Anyway, should I start dumping ISO into her for more use? This is pretty much unexplored territory for me so I have a lot of questions. How will leveling her affect my MMR and scaling? I have just 9 champed 4*s, highest being HB at 282, so I'm afraid leveling her too much will mess up gameplay big time for me (I play for new releases top 100 and however far I can go in PVP). And even if I level her up, how does she fare in PVP? I only see OML 90% of the time, so I don't know what to expect from her PVP wise.

Thanks in advance.

IME, you can level 1 5* beyond the buff level of your 4* champs with little adverse effect.

Its leveling a 2nd 5* past the halfway point that tilts the pinball machine. That strands you in the funhouse.

    So, 2 choices before you.

If Phoenix is good enough to be your first 5* champ and you're willing to forego all others for awhile, then champ her.

Otherwise, resign yourself to starting a dupe with any addl Phoenix covers drawn, or selling them.
So what you are saying is that I can level the first one to whatever. But the 2nd and 3rd 5* should not go past whatever level my highest 4* champ is?

I don't necessarily agree. With only 1 450 5* you'll start to see other champed 5* teams, and it will absolutely begin to ruin your MMR. I know dual 390s or 1 420 doesn't hurt it, but dual 405s begins to ruin MMR and take away your ability to see most 3* teams. By the numbers, 450+370 is the same as 410+410, so I imagine champing PHX would immediately limit your MMR.

As far as how well she does vs OML or other 5*, she has the ability to cascade even a 5* to death in just a few turns with her purple. Her survivability is a little suspect if she's the sole tank, but she's still going to be a solid powerhouse that you won't regret leveling.

Champ her and make her 3,5,5. You will be opened to a whole new world!!

OK, so from what I gather I should be safe for PVP up till at least lvl390 or so (setting that safe limit for myself, may eventually go even lower if I do level her up), but around that point or beyond is there much of an impact on my scaling for PVE? Last I remember for Agent V release highest enemy levels were 320+ for the toughest node and 305+ for 4* essential node, with maxed Jean Grey boosted. I don't really fancy entering a future new release PVE having to almost exclusively use Phoenix just because I have no other boosted 4*s to use.

I think you've answered yourself - use iso to max more 4* so the transition to 5* land will be earier.

Champion Phoenix is an absolute beast in PvE. With several to choose from, I was regularly using her with Scarlet Witch for fast clears. So don't let worries about PvE dissuade you from leveling her. All the way, if you feel like it. Not sure where it'll leave you in PvP, but definitely not a problem in PvE.
