Why does D3 create all these useless Heroes ?
Like Gweenpool she is good for nothing or Wesp to weak to do anything (when she is able to start stealing AP the Fight is almost over )
And now Agent Venom, stealing my highest friendly AP and do very low damage with it, so never use him with HB as example
Stealing his own team and make them weaker ..... we call that a Traitor
And red is doing extra damage if you got lots of AP ... but wait ... thats impossible, because black is stealing them away
he can make the other 2 Teammembers invisible, but he is still visible and so he takes all the damage, so for what is invisible good ?
the same with improved IW, still useless...
Invisible is the most usless power in game I think, nobody, i know ever use it (only in DDQ)
Even Prof x dont use it, blue is good but invisible
SO WHY DONT YOU IMPROVE ALL THESE INVISIBLE POWERS TO SOMETHIN NEEDED; LIKE A COUNTDOWNTILE THAT PRODUCE AP LIKE SW BLUE !!!!
... because there are no good AP producers in 4* land like, sw, im40, ......

I don't use 4* enough to know for sure, but invisibility seem kinda OP to me. I know there have been a number of times in PvP where I battled a character with invisibility and winning, then they go invisible and I can't get their one stupid tile and they water torture me to death. Hell I beat Clash of Titans with a level 70 Invisible Woman with only 3 covers by exploiting invisibility...
EDIT: I suspect the reason few people use invisibility is because it helps you win, but often slows the pace of play because those characters don't have strong abilities. If so much of getting placement wasn't time sensitive and focused on doing things quickly rather than strategically it wouldn't be a problem. That's the real problem with the game. A puzzle game that should reward strategy instead rewards speed runs.0 -
Self-targeting invisibility is great if you can keep it going. Agent Venom's version, which protects his allies but leaves him exposed, boils down to a version of Colossus' yellow power -- redirecting all ST damage to himself instead of nulling it out altogether. Situationally useful, but not great.0

Invis is really not that great in 4 land when you factor that some of the best 4s have all of them AoE attacks and invis chars are most of them squishy or not very popular. Venom is the first one with a good health pool. Miles was probably the easiest to use when he is buffed but very few people have him champed.
The only really good invis power is Black Spidey's because it is a passive/free, and also because there are not that many AoE attacks in 5 land (PH, OML and Banner all need to transform, and BBolt needs the extra AP).0 -
I mainly use my prof x for tile strengthening, so I love his invisibility. IW can completely avoid a nuke if used right, so she has become one of my favorites to use, especially for pve. 4* ap generators. Red hulk, hulkbuster, and kingpin can get you a specific color, starlord gives it at random. I have Cho blue at 1 cover, but that ability might make some green.
I agree with some of the criticism about agent venom. His damage output just seems too low to want to put up with ap management. His red does less than 3* cyclops without hoarding ap. 5 black does about the same damage as iron fist 5 purple with 12 black. That could be an interesting team, albeit one that fights itself. Save up black to punch with iron fist then use up the black with venom. Not sure what to make of Agent Venom's invisibility power. Just a few turns to direct the damage to him? Using the loaner in simulator, he seems most useful when alien weakness triggers for some board shake0 -
1. My god that stream of consciousness from OP made my head hurt.
2. Agent Venom is actually a pretty hard core damage dealer on the cheap, the goal is to GASP use him to his ability and not just try to Jam a square block in the round hole. Try using him with characters that have Low AP powers that deal damage.
3. I will give the fact it sucks that we have to use low covered 4s for the essential simulator node, it can be difficult but again build the team around him0 -
Any Mod who reads this should merge this thread with the official character thread.
Agent Venom's black isn't great to manage at 1 cover. It's not fun to get 12 AP you need for a power and then lose it.
But it's good at higher levels of covers.
For example, imagine the simulator node of 3x Doctor Strange. Use any powers, get hit by 3 Flames of Faltine. Or more realistically, Peggy/Star-Lord/Strange. Saving up AP to hurt the enemy team and get AP cascades for a low cost can be great in some situations. I do think his numbers are a bit low, kind of like Blade's numbers (his Black should always make Red tiles)--but they are clearly building toward some kind of 'don't use powers' strategy pathway and here is another guy to fit that mold.0 -
Agent Venom does something rare and valuable- puts the AP you AREN'T using, to use. Haven't you ever had a match where there's a color you're just not using? Maybe you have it as a passive *cough Jean, Scarlet Witch, Prof X* and you end up with a bunch of a color. Agent Venom doesn't burn your strongest color, he burns the one with the most AP. Now if you don't have much AP yet? Sure, that could be a useful color. But the longer a fight goes, the more likely it will be a (relatively) worthless color to you. Because, presumably, you are using your useful colors.0

I think you are underestimating this character immensely. He does very quick fast damage or he becomes a great board shaker and team defender his only weakness is he has no self acceleration but that is why we pick teams of 3. He is unique and adds a unique idea to the game and that is always good. Unlike Wasp whose unique power did not work very well in practice his works beautifully. Give him a little more time he does require a little more strategy.0

Yea strategy! Such as bringing an AoE ability character or even an AoE tu so you don't get water tortured to death.
Strategy is hard.0
