Not sure what to do for this session.

Being a newer player and just finished leveling my 1* team, I need 2* covers. Right now I am at 71 in the main event and need to finish 76 to 100 to get 3 OBW covers. So should I sit out this session till I fall some in the main?

    Given that the reward of this event is a new character, even if he's lazy, the last days will be a carnage. I think you could easily drop beyond top100 if you do nothing. So either a slow grind to keep your spot, or a last time rush.
