Why is it removed from some of the events?

It was present in Lone Star Skirmish.
  • Looks like this reward was completely removed, which is just ****.
Covers where removed, HP is now removed, so MB developers would just remove players not in an alliance from the game?

I haven't tested this myself, but I'm pretty sure that if you join a random, active public alliance, you'll qualify for the 50hp reward. It's given out to the top 2500 alliances, so the cutoff is probably extremely low, making it no different than before.

Pretty much this. The addition of the reward to Alliances and the removal as a Progression reward amounts to a push slightly favor of Alliances, giving out more HP that way compared to as a progression reward.

IceIX, do you know the cutoff for the hp reward in the last PvP event? Would help me out a lot to have a number to throw at people who argue that more people are losing out on HP now.

MB just 5 players alliance would be enough, but still they're just removing rewards from other players, which I completely don't like. Especially as they still haven't changed the cost of character slots or added other ways to get them.
I'm in an alliance actually, which I made myself, and 1 player is definetly not enough.

Yeah, but the people that care about the reward have probably already joined an alliance, so I doubt that most people who care are really affected by this. Join a random 5 person alliance!: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6055 for instance is looking for members, bam. done.

With such logic, you kinda should just include players in alliances like currently in tournaments, by brackets in closest available alliance. Because with such rewards alliances aren't an option, they're a requirement.

I'm not against alliances, and that they would get more rewards, but if I don't want to be in one, why are rewards removed from me?
I would have to be in a team with the ppl I don't even know, lose some rewards because some of them wouldn't be playing in some events, and then be kicked if I wouldn't be playing myself, and then looking for another alliance, why am I required to do it?

Rankwise, 2500. What that amounts to person-wise I'd have to dig up. At a bare minimum it would be 2500x5, or 12,500 users which is quite a bit over the number of people that normally hit the 500 Progression reward on one of the longer runs of Tournaments. Add in any Alliances that have more than 5 users and that's a huge net increase in HP outlay per Versus Tournament since Alliance rewards were introduced.

Yeah, I was looking for the exact numerical cutoff so that my response to these questions can be "It only takes each person in a 5 man alliance to earn 300 points each to get the hp award, so joining literally any random semi-active alliance will qualify you for the HP award".

Ahh. I can easily give you the median score for each bracket (amazingly low) or the individual cutoff for tiers but score cutoffs for Alliances in particular takes a bit more work as it's not a quick surfaced stat.

I can tell you that now I'm 5863 with 525, so it doesn't look like that. And, it doesn't change the thing that alliances are now required.

Strange, those values aren't stored or cached in a database somewhere? The only thing I can think of that would cause that is if you dynamically calculate the alliance scores each time someone requests it, but that seems too wildly inefficient for you guys to be doing. Are you just not saving the entire data set after each event or something?

We are, the tool I'm using just doesn't surface that data directly for Alliances (yet), so it's a more manual process.

Gotcha. You should get that intern of yours to update the tool to support alliances then!
  • So, where's the prove how good alliances are & how easy it's now to get rewards?
  • I spent 1700 HP to join my alliance. We regularly finish top 50 even though a rotating list of one or two of our members do not have time to participate in some PVP or PVE events and about 1/3 score in the 600-700 range in tournaments. The alliance regularly earns me 100 HP every 2.5 days not counting PVE HP awards. Simple math should be proof enough.

That was a question not to you.

I'm waiting for prove of this.
