Lifelink bug?

Here is what one of my coalition-mates says:

"I'm not sure if this is planned, but I was in an event fight yesterday and the AI played a card that made a minion 2/1 and gave it deathtouch - the creature already had lifelink. The creature then hit my 16/16 octopus (Kiora ult) killing it. The computer player got 16 life back even though it only had 2 power. Is this normal, or is this a bug?"

Is this a bug in lifelink? Or is it working as intended?

sounds like a death touch status bug.

in order to make death touch work in mtgPQ, what the programmers did was to code death touch to deal damage = opponent critter life, instead of using a separate status field for it.

hence when the 2 damage critter hits your octopus, death touch makes it deal 16 damage and override its normal damage number.
  • Undergrowth Champion is a great example. He is not killed by death touch
