I was wondering about my available characters this event, but my poorly-covered Dr Strange (0/3/1), my marginally-covered Star Lord (4/2/2) and 3* Steve are just blitzing everything, so far. We'll see how I fare when it's no longer only Hammer goons or Daken plus two Hammer goons.

I have to say, as a mainly PVE player, I am really enjoying the new Star-Lord. I get the complaints on his animations, but with goons around he just makes everything cruise.

I think I'll go Beast, SL, 4clops as my go to. Beast blue/green for 4 & 7 AP, Cyke for 8 AP seems like it will move things along.

You really should use that blue for Cyke too. Its a great damage dealer too when champed and boosted (6K for me) and it accelerates his red too (not mention keeping the red out of Jugg's hands during those fights). With Starlord lowering ap costs, you'll be firing every other round.

But yeah, Starlord does work great with him, surprisingly so with their color overlap. I've been using Elektra with them for her Shadow Step to mitigate damage, She's less levels than Starlord but it tanking his purple too.

I'm actually running both Cyclops and Starlord 3/5/5. If starlord has a yellow CD out his red is 6AP and does 6k+2600 per friendly cd. With goons this van easily hit for 15k for 6AP which is crazy. Cyclops yellow generates a crazy amount of red and is only 3AP with a Starlord yellow CD out.

I also use Beast as a 3rd but that doesn't really excite me and neither do any of the other 3* options. Maybe later subs will have better AOE reinforcements.

The more I play this event, the more I think they couldn't do much better than this to showcase the new 3* Strange and the revamped Starlord. It's certainly one of the more enjoyable Heroics in recent memory...

Wow. I'll chime in and also say that new Starlord is really good. LVL 5 in his purple can overwrite three enemy countdown tiles, which is a great ability unto itself. I found that out in the 2-star Wolverine required node...mess with those Grenadiers but good!

I prefer 5 in the yellow, you still have 2 countdown titles with the purple, but you may only use 8 purple to use the power since against goon you have nearly always a yellow countdown title on board.

I still find it hard to love Starlord. His abilities are definitely helpful in pve, but I just hate the never ending animations.

It appears they should, but I didn't crunch the numbers. I think they just messed up on the wave nodes the past two events, so now it's back to normal.
