Relentless Dead new mechanic in 1.7.2 or a new bug

Hi, I'm not sure if this is new intended behaviour or a freshly introduced bug.

Relentless Dead (RD) no longer brings creatures\itself from the graveyard, if killed by your spell.

Before 1.7.2:
RD is reinforced on the table so he is 4\4, some enemy creature on the table.
I can kill RD and creature with bone splinters and the effect would be - RD will return, reinforced once, as it was before, may bring a zombie from a graveyard if there is any.

In 1.7.2 :
RD returns, not reinforced, probably not bringing anyone back.

I've seen such behaviour couple of times while playing Emrakul so can't yet test it thoroughly. It might be related to the fact that in one case RD was under table sickness, thus disabled, but previously his "When destroyed" effect was triggering no matter of it's state - it brings back creature from the graveyard and if it was reinforced - it brings itself back for free (as both RD were destroyed and returned).

Is this a new "correct" mechanic ? If yes - this card has way less value as it was before.
Given that his Menace is still broken (effectively unblockable, no matter how many defenders are against him) - it has little practical application : high mana cost, low damage, can't be easily killed by enemy ( only enemy berserk would attack him), can't be used as revival machine or free sacrifice...

Keen to hear other's experience with RD.

  • If you've been paying attention you would've noticed that before 1.7.2, it wouldn't both reinforce itself AND bring a creature back, nor would it return if destroyed while disabled.

Nothing has changed except for your powers of observation.
  • Well, just stepped on that again - reinforced, not disabled RD is killed by bone splinters - only 1 card returns.
Then it was killed by enemy creature and I used 3rd skill - 2 copies came back - so there were 2 RD cards on the graveyard.

But when it was sacrificed 1 turn before that - it didn't bring 2nd copy back!
I can't say what was the exact RD mechanic before because I paid less attention to it. 1.7.2 behaviour is noticeable different!

And no, it's not the power of observation or imagination or whatever you want to hide in that caustic note, something changed.
