3* champ priority

Hey guys, I have 5 characters with 13 covers and not champed. For champing them, I'm at the mercy of cover drops and my ISO reserves are extremely low. So I'm thinking I should put together a priority list that tells me if I should sell a cover or spend the ISO to champ and level up with it. Here's what I have, please put them in a "CHAMP SOON!" or "TRASH" category. Ideally, a little over half should be in the TRASH bucket because my ISO is hurting.

13 covers:
Iron Fist
Wolverine (Patch)
Black Widow
Cyclops
Beast

12 covers (not likely to get 2 covers consecutively anytime soon):
Falcon
Hood
Capt America
Black Panther
Punisher
Colossus
Bullseye
Sentry
Ragnarok

Beast seems like the no-brainer to sell those covers until I get the other 13-covers champed, but after him, I'm torn.

Boosted & Champed Beast can be pretty useful.
Personally I'd want to champ all those at 13, plus Cap, Panther, Bullseye. Boosted bullseye is so much fun, and great in wave nodes.
Hood can afford to wait until a few characters are further along in champ levels, so they tank colours for him still.

If I understand correctly, you have 13 covers of the first five, then 12 of the next batch but do you have any covers in your queue that will expire? If you have covers that will expire, prioritize those heroes first, otherwise, I'd save my iso and command points and champion characters as the covers come along. Except Sentry and Rags, I wouldn't champion those two.

If you're looking for a priority list though, here is how I'd handle the ones that you mentioned:

    Priority 1:

    Cyclops - huge damage
Cap - The ability to remove any tiles you want with his blue and red is a huge game changer
Panther - He has a useful color spread that comes in handy when you need to make a rainbow
Fist - His purple is incredibly cheap and great for feeding Panther

    Priority 2:

Beast - The blue is key here, once you get the blue tiles out, he can do so much
Colossus - I pair him with Beast and KK for an awesome team that is constantly getting healed and doing aoe damage
    Widow - Sniper sniper sniper

    Priority 3:

Patch - multiple strike tiles can end a game quickly, unfortunately, you need to be careful cause the game may end quickly with you on the wrong side.
Punisher - I rarely use him, Torch is better for the same color scheme

Priority never: Sentry and Rags. Amusingly enough, I was battling against Sentry today, he put down world rupture which I always hate to see. I had a couple Beast protect tiles down. World Rupture did more damage to him than to me.

One last note, I'm still working on Falcon, Hood and Bullseye so I really can't give any decent intel on those three.

    Good luck!

    FIRST (In order):
    Cyclops
    Iron Fist
    Capt America
    Hood

    NEXT TIER:
    Black Panther
    Black Widow
    Wolverine (Patch)
    Beast

    WHEN YOU HAVE EXTRA ISO:
    Falcon
    Punisher
    Bullseye

    TRASH:
    Colossus
    Sentry
    Ragnarok

    I have 8 maxed 4's and I STILL haven't champed those 3 trash characters. They're my only 3's that still aren't champed.

I agree on this ranking with the exception of Hood in the first tier. Don't trash him, but you're really only using him for AP steal and the occasional countdown acceleration (his black). Point is, leveling doesn't increase his usefulness. If you only keep him around 110 level, he can "hide" behind your other characters for the most part, never leaving him exposed in the front for an enemy turn. In PVP he'll still be targeted first anyway and most people would be able to take him out with a oneshot power whether he's at max level or not.
One day you'll want to champ him (and all 3* stars really) but that's a long time off and the iso is better used for GSBW or Panther if you're working down that list.
  • Immensely useful feedback guys, thank you VERY much! I didn't put that much credit into capt america, and have 3 covers sitting in queue I was going to sell. With your suggestions though I'm going to use my 130k Iso to champ him. I don't have any other 3* covers in my queue, so I'll be at the mercy of the DDQ and story mode reward drops. If I get covers for multiple characters in my not-champed-list, I'll use your responses to figure out who gets champed and who gets sold.

    Thanks again!!
