Single Player Beyond Prologue

I was wondering if there was plans to expand the single player aspect of the game past the prologue? I'm almost done getting all of the drops for all of the stages in the final chapter and while I love the tournament aspect of the game, I'd still love to play some single player. I think adding in storylines past Dark Reign would be a cool way to do it.

They do this through PvE events (like the currently-running simulator), though the enemy levels do not remain static and the events only last a short time. They are bracketed so you are competing against other players, but only for the final rewards. Here is an excellent guide that explains it all:

A lot of us have been asking for something like this for a while, but they've never said much about whether they're seriously considering it. I'd love it; the game is much too focused on PVP right now (PVE is just a different kind of PVP) and it needs more single-player content.

Yeah I've been doing the PvE events too and I guess they're a good expansion on the prologue, but I'd like something more casual where I'm not being ranked against other players that have spent more on the game and/or cheated.

MPQ is primarily a competitive game, and I don't think that it is going to change away from that. The Prologue is really more of a tutorial than a core part of the game - a way to get players started with some covers and comfortable with the mechanics.
  • I think they will. Here's kind of how I expect it to work out:

    1) They continue putting out PvE events at the pace they are (which seems to be one new, and one old per month)
    2) Eventually, they have more PvE events than they can feasibly run over a reasonable amount of time
2a) The older PvE events will no longer elicit the same response as they used to, as the veterans have collected enough covers to make it less exciting
    3) They "bundle" these older PvE events into a new chapter, with static rewards like the prologue

Heh, just as a note: D3 actively sandboxes cheaters, and many top PvE players spend either no money or very little money. Also, PvE missions themselves give good rewards in terms of Iso and tokens. Think of the ranking rewards as an optional goal.

I hope you're right because I like the idea to add the older PvE events to the prologue chapters.
Moreover, I never played the 1st episode (red iso?), so this will be an opportunity.

Adding old events as new chapters to the prologue will make the game more attractive for new players and will enable to see (or see again) the entire story.
