My save file seems to be gone. (Steam)

So I loaded my game up today. Before I loaded it, my computer decided to check it for malware for some reason, something it's never done. It said it was safe, and then when the game loaded up, I was in the tutorial. I closed the game and rebooted, and I'm still in the tutorial without any of my progress. What happened? How do I fix this?

    Have you submitted a ticket to Customer Service? That would be the first step in getting this resolved.

    This has happened to me a couple times .Open your task manager and close out the app then restart your cpu and go back in it should be fixed
