Teams?

I finally have some champed 3*s, and a fair amount of 4*s. I'm having trouble finding good combinations.

Right now I tend to use Steve/Falcon/Mohawk Storm or my 3 5*s to get through multiple trivial nodes without taking too much time on them. I've been playing around with CapMarvel/3* Cyke but not sure who to put with them.

Also have 4* Jean Grey waiting in the wings and wondering who to sell for her. Leaning towards Torch since I only have 2 covers for him.

Also, is anyone left behind who I should pump some Iso into? Roster in sig.

Thanks,
-EF

You're in a non-ideal place with your roster, but that's normal for transitioning (I'm in a similar non-ideal place, but one level higher); you'll be leaning on your small number of 3* champs and the next tier below for awhile until you get more 3* champs to join them. I champed Marvel early, and while I never regretted it, I also have found that she is really a rung or two below several other 3*; her red and black simply don't do enough damage. Falcon is a good utility character, and Steve is top-tier, but until you get a couple of other heavy hitters to champ level you'll have to scramble a little. You'll be playing Steve a lot.

A couple of teams that would work:
KK/Steve/Marvel - Good rainbow, KK at 5 cover green does good AoE, Steve Red is entertaining, 2 characters with stun, Marvel will serve as a red/black battery. You could replace Marvel with Fist.
Deadpool/Storm/Steve - Deadpool red is effective at 5 covers, and whales are always whales
Maybe Gamora/KK/Falcon to give Steve a rest

As for your roster question, I would get rid of low tier 4* before any 3*; you don't know how the RNG will treat you. Dumping Wasp certainly won't hurt you at this point.

    RNG?

I'll admit, I was using Steve/Falcon/Fist for awhile until Storm got so many covers. I feel like that would be a good one if I had Fist covered better. (Watching his attack tile get up to 800+ damage was always entertaining.)

    Steve/KK/Falcon was a go-to for wave nodes.

I'm a big fan of Cyc, Doom, Hulk. Doom feeds Cyc's black power, good rainbow, and Hulk often tanks several colors, setting him up for his passive.

    Which Hulk? 3*?

(I don't know why this game has like 15 Hulks but barely any X-Men....)

    Yeah, 3*.

And I totally agree. So many Hulks and Iron Mans, so few X-Men.

Sorry; missed an earlier question; RNG = Random Number Generator; since every pull is random, you can't predict what you'll get. So, even though you only have a couple of torch covers today, you could wake up next week and have several more.

So, since the 4* transition is SO LONG (I've had all of the 3* champed for a few months now, and I don't have a single fully covered 4*), you're better off getting rid of low-level 4* than 3* at this point.

Gotcha. I have 4* Jean, 4* Cage, Nova, and Gwenpool waiting now, as well as 3* Strange.

What are the lower-tier 4*s that I should drop?

Looking at the 1-cover 4* on your roster, you likely won't miss Wasp and Venom; I would certainly roster Jean and Nova.

Don't know enough about the new characters (Cage and Gwenpool) to say.

And I'd find a way to roster Strange; it sure looks like he'll be a top-tier 3* support character (like IM40 and Kamala). 2 covers are available from Deadpool plus whatever you got from the Strange event, so it's a jump-start.

    Hope that helps!

As a Strange fan anyway, I have also noticed he seems really good when they've teamed him up in the event. I didn't like Gwenpool at all when she had her event, and I don't know much about 4* Cage either.

I *might* have to spend some money for some roster slots.

If you drop some ISO into Hulk, you can pull off this:

I've used the Hulk version to great success.

Oh awesome! I will have to try that. Thanks!

Based on the covers you have right now, a Steve/ Cap Marvel/ Storm might work well too. Use Marvel to tank & generate red (for Steve) and black (for Storm, or Marvel herself if you need a short stun in a pinch) Storm’s Hailstorm is nice not just for the damage but it can limit the places where an enemy countdown or special tile can be placed (sometime shutting it out completely). Plus her green can accelerate your AP too.

Thanks! I think Mohawk Storm is underrated, I've been having a lot of luck with her. I'll try this combo too.

2nding this recommendation too. I've got 15 champed 4*'s and a 4/4/3 OML and THIS 3* team is what got me through several later rounds of BOSS RUSH. It can take a bit to get it going and its still slow when it is, but it can keep a killer boss who can one shot you from ever getting a turn.

Mostly just posting to say that last im40 cover will completely change how you play. Him and Steve are a team that can punch way above their weight.

Edit: I would even spend the 20 cp on him since his yellow ddq is still pretty far away.

I wouldn't flinch at that. Who do you put with Steve/IM40?

Kamala; she uses the green from Recharge, keeps healing with all those shields flying around and gets that small boost of purple from Recharge too.

    Best builds for IM40/Cap/KK?

(and anyone else I have champed)

355 for Cap, 5 in yellow for Ironman (you won't use red or blue often, so take your pick at the build). I normally run KK at 3/5/5 for the green generation, but some folks prefer 5/3/5. Play around and see which you prefer.
I'd go 5/3/5 with Mohawk Storm.
