So in pvp events when i try to skip somebody i get matched to the same guy again.
this has happened quite alot lately.
it's really annoying since we have to pay iso to skip people it feels like i'm just trowing away iso.

also there's usually only around 5-10 different people in the cycle if you keep skipping you will see the same name over and over.
Is there a way to widen the matchmaking to face more people.

  • Happened to me tonight.

I skipped a retaliation and a match against the same player came up in the same environment, minus 10 ISO.

I'm not sure you get the point of the skip tax. They want you to fight one of the nominated opponents, not keep fishing endlessly for an easy or valuable opponent.

So you can skip one or two opponents because bad matchups can happen, but after that with your opponents cycling through again you will eventually pick one.

I think Eddie might be missing a big point in the original comment. When you skip someone, either because of that bad match up or because youve already fought them twice that night, they shouldnt immediately come up in the queue.

It's especially annoying in Lightning Rounds when you are at 300 points and you are skipping around to see the same 5-6 people with 200-240 points. You check the leaderboard and you can see dozens and dozens of people with 300-500 points (unshielded) but you can't touch them somehow. You click on their rosters and they have similar rosters as you do.
  • It's been mentioned before, it'll be mentioned again, and I'll throw my 2 cents in every time. If skipping is going to cost us resources, it should actually be skipping. No more skipping the same 3 15 point matches in indefinite rotation.

If you've been tanking or they've been tanking then it makes sense why you wouldn't be matched with them.

I wasn't sure if that was a response to me, but I totally "get" the idea behind a skip tax..... do you? If I skip that person, should they pop up immediately? That doesn't seem very nice to take 10 ISO "bonus" away and then offer me the exact same opponent.

btw, my experience last night was the first time I tried to skip in the Thor tourney. There was no fishing, although I laughed when I saw a difficult opponent worth 7 points and an easier opponent worth 17.

If this is the case, why bother with the tax at all?

I understand WHY it happens, but in a single (or possibly double) bracket tournament it shouldn't happen at all.

probably to deter those who would skip 100-200 times to queue up several people for hitting the same person 3 times in a row to get several people que'd up for when they drop a shield
