Thing in the Ice question

So opponent had their Thing out. My creature attacked it with enough power to kill it outright. It hit 0 health AND THEN FLIPPED! Is this by design?

Kinda annoying, had it happen twice that match...

    Yes by design. It is a berzerker foil.

    I would expect that to be the same with Westvale Abbey right? If it gets hit by berserkers, it would flip instead of being destroyed, right?

    Nope, Abby just dies if it hits 0.

    of cos it flips instead of dying! it's a mythic! abbey is merely a rare so it dies!

    Westvale Abbey only transforms at the start of your turn. Thing in the Ice transforms immediately upon toughness going below 6. That's the difference.
