Something went wrong...

Am I the only one having trouble connecting? It gets to "fetching player event" and then it just says " something went wrong".

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes everyone. Another event another problem.

I managed to get in - albeit with a TON of lag. Got one game off on the blue node, won with both secondary objectives completed (my opponent's deck was a very nice one to go against; no creatures - just Harness the Storm with a LOT of cheeky constant 2 damage pings through supports). Then I lose connection right after I finish... so I haven't gotten my ribbons or recorded my progress! Which is arguably even WORSE.

Yup me too. I believe since obviously some people were able to connect and play, they should just restart it tomorrow after the four hour maintenance theyre probably about to perform.

I think the problem is that everyone is trying to play at the same time during the event (*cough*tiebreakers*cough*), which in turns causes an unintended DDoS like effect on the servers.

Or in other words: we're crashing the servers by overwhelming them by having everyone playing in the events at the same time!

EDIT/UPDATE - Good news is that the servers are not "D.E.D." dead, just really sluggish right now.

And I have nothing better to do on my lunch break then continually try and sign in...
  • I noticed the game started running very slow the last hour or so, but at least I was able to play since I was already fully logged in. Then I was dumb enough to restart the game and now of course I'm getting the same log in error.

Wasted my whole lunch on that ****. If they don't restart the event, a lot of people are going to be REALLY aggravated.
  • I'd say way more went wrong. So many new issues even if you manage to login. Sofar I've noticed 3 new bugs. 2 of which were bad enough to cause a loss.
Do they even have any sort of qa before a patch?

If they would implement something along the lines of the nodes only being half charged at the beginning of the event this would have been less annoying. I also just noticed that this is only a 24 hr event, not a lot of time to earn the rewards.

I have managed to get in and at a bunch of matches, but the matchmaking parts are suuuuuper slow. So yeah, we nearly crashed the servers by playing all at the same time. I agree with the half-charged nodes thing. That would make it so that not everyone is rushing to play the new event as soon as it starts. Lets hope for future events the servers aren't laggy

Not sure if this is a solution, but whenever there's an update, it seems that a lot of the weirdness goes away after I restart my device.

You should at least have waited until I added my own!

Yeah, I have to agree, basically everything around the new event seems to be broken. Lags, bad connection and I really dislike the 24 hour timer, which can't be serious. It basically means that many people won't be able to seriously compete in the event. Together with the app background bug a lot of fun has vanished since yesterday. Too bad, I really like the new set.

So according to what I've seen on the forums so far, 3 days is insane, 2 days is too grindy but 1 day is too short.

It's also simultaneously bad to still have games to play after progression rewards have been claimed and to have no games to play after progression rewards claims.

I'll let optimistic shteev be the voice of reason.

The 24 hr thing should reduce grinding which I think is a plus, I might be able to finish this event in good standing (I generally get the progression rewards then mostly stop) since it will take almost the whole event time to earn the progression rewards. I mentioned it above because it was a surprise to me and wanted to point it out.
  • The reduced grinding is nice, but with only 24 hours, the wait time between 0'ing nodes and being able to play them again is too much. They'd need to drop that dramatically for a short event to even be worth really playing, honestly.

They're doing maintenance literally right now, which started in the middle of an event match I was in. Grrrrr

So I guess I lost the long match I was about to win when they decided to "perform maintenance". Negativity is only scraping the surface. Such an obvious disadvantage to the people who couldn't get in to play, they kept it running anyway, now the icing. Glad I have world of tanks. That game never lets me down. Guess I'll be back in an hour.
