Can't combine two heroes with mutliple powers

Accidentally combined two of my Model 40 Iron Man covers (got first in the Juggs tourney yee) that I meant to put into my Level 18 Iron Man with two powers; I have two Model 40 heroes now, one with three powers, and one with two powers, and I can't combine them into one hero. Is there any way to separate the lower level one or something?

    i believe you have to ask support via the feedback form if they can do something, a similar query was asked sometime ago, and ice asked for the person to go through the app form.
