6 werewolves and 8 eldrazi.

I admit it, I'm stumped. Help a guy out here?

Building a red or green deck capable of playing 6 werewolves and 8 eldrazi is starting to loolike something of an insurmountable challenge. My only green planeswalkers are Nissa, Garruk and Kiora... [edit]where the hell has Sarkhan got to, eh? [/edit] Playing mono green seems like a good way to lose games, since I don't own Nissa's Renewel or The Great Aurora. Sage seems to be my only good option for werewolves, and without From Beyond or Drowner of Hope I'm really struggling to find 8 eldrazi. Blight Herder has been mentioned to me several times but I've tested it in the past and found it poor... what's a good way of generating void gems in green or blue?

Not much really. Just **** commons that ingest 1 when they attack. Grip of desolation and scour from existence are the best options available IMO. Blight herder works well sometimes, but I pulled it from my decks because I found myself holding onto that scour so I could process scions with the herder, and as a result by the time I was able to cast both, neither were very useful anymore.

Try these cards with Kiora if you have them:

    Sage / Lambholt Pacifist (cheaper)
    Greenwarden of Murasa
Birthing Hulk / Brood Monitor / Catacomb Sifter

    Talent of the Telepath
    Reclaim
    Nissa's Revelation
    Gone Missing
    Haunted Cloak

Prism Array (From Beyond would be better but you dont have)
Fertile Ground / Animist Awakening / Drownyard / etc

Get out Greenwarden then reclaim or suicide your blockers (cloak on werewolf or enemy creature). They'll come right back and SHOULD count as being cast due to their ETB effects re-triggering.

Chances are probably quite high that Eldritch moon cards are geared toward this (werewolf/eldrazi dual types?). Event objectives are generally geared toward the card sets they represent after all. But we have to wait and see.

The best Eldrazi spawning cards in the new set appear to be green. Green already has plenty of ways to get Eldrazi out, so I hope they've made some changes in the last week.

I'm sure the dev team has tested many efficient and fun decks that meet all these objectives in a timely manner...
I think their professional advice would be:

Step 1. Buy as many Eldrazi packs as humanly possible. Tell your parents they're for a school project!

Step 2. Do the same tedious nonsense you've been do doing for the past few months except do it more.

Step 3. Ensure yourself that this is the best way to break 20 way ties on the leaderboards. Not improving opponent match-making or the AI's behavior.

Release notes specifies bonus ribbons can be won many times.

It specifies bonus ribbons to be won as casting werewolves, etc.

Next line says an ADDITIONAL ribbon can be won per node for summoning 8 Eldrazi.

I don't think you're supposed to summon 8 Eldrazi per game.

I do wish it was the way you described though. It would be quite the challenge to try to cast so many objectives without outright winning or losing the game.

Ulamog in ramp decks. Nissa is the best option.

For void gems, blue also has stalling cards that ingest like Horribly Awry or Spell Shrivel. Might be too pedestrian for top-tier players, though... icon_e_wink.gif

Love this. Thank you for the idea.

    I disagree

On each node, you can earn an additional ribbon by summoning 8 or more Eldrazi. Bonus objectives can be completed multiple times!

It tells on each one you can earn an additional ribbon and after tell bonus objectives can be complete multiple times.
For me this means both objectives.
It's worded in that way just to avoid listing the same secondary objective each time for each node.

In that case, this event should be fun if only to read about everyone's complaints when they fail.

I don't mean to get too negative in the middle of your thread, Shteev, especially since Eldritch Moon hasn't even been released yet but...

When Oath Of The Gatewatch dropped, it felt like a big "thank you" from D3. "Thank you for supporting our rendition of Battle for Zendikar. Here's a bunch of cool new cards and a never before done PVE Event cram packed with crystals and other goodies." This is beginning to feel more like "Fellas, our numbers were great last quarter, let's keep pumping out the same type of events and card packs."

So much wasted potential in this game sometimes. It's like watching a med student graduate, walk across the stage to get their diploma, and then randomly light up a crack pipe.

Anyway just use this guy, he's pretty much an Eldrazi...
