The Usual Suspects

This last **** was fun -- about as fun as getting a root canal. I had the great luck of riding the Chandra express (NOT at **** deck, but that's another post that already exisits). This would have been a lovely journey if it were not for the frequent breakdowns due to the Flameblade Angel.
Several of my teammates had frequent breakdowns due to Thing in the Ice.
Other Usual Suspects-- Bandit (reacting with spells) and wolf tokens.
But here's what really gets me. It seems these cards are being put in more and more non-event decks. It's almost like some players are using them to cause others to freeze. (Purely speculation, of course).
This is what happens when broken things don't get fixed.
I have a twofold purpose for this post:
1. I am inviting fellow members of this community to start a working list of cards that cause freezes.
2. I would also love to hear suggestions on how D3 should he handling frequent freezers.
I propose that D3 should adopt a standard of fixing all bugged cards within 7 days of the report. If they are unfixable at this point, they should be removed from inventories and the vault.
In addition, I believe the quit screen should have a built in crash reporting tool that would allow an instant report to be sent where the user can enter the name of the offending card.
Players and coalitions affected by card crashes should also be compensated.
Finally, D3 should keep an updated known bugs list in these forums-- with report date and estimate fix date.
What cards are freezing you up and how do you think it should be dealt with?

I like the spirit behind this idea, but I'm not a fan of losing my hard-to-get mythics/rares. Of course it would be nice to have weekly minor bugfixes. But they might not have the development muscle to pull that off between finding the bugs and working on the next set. Plus if they have to try to get play store/itunes approval every week that might be problematic.
I've been fortunate in that I've only had a game freeze once in the past 2 weeks, and that was in QB, so it wasn't a big deal. (Bandit + Mirrorpool in case you were wondering) So from my perspective it seems like 1.7 drastically improved the freeze situation.
I've had bigger impact from people losing their accounts, getting shut out of events, and losing full nodes worth of games to connection errors to be bothered by individual game freezes.
But of course that is just my experience. YMMV0 -
I've not been aware of a freezing problem with ThingITI, I've just been running it because IMO it's the strongest horror to run for the vampire/horror objective, and I'm sure many people feel the same. What is the problem?
I am aware that for some reason ThingITI flips if it's destroyed by Descend upon the Sinful.0 -

From my understanding -- because I don't have Titi -- it freezes when AI throws a destroy spell on it.
My problem is with Flameblade. When I take it with WTTF it will freeze 100% of the time on me when it uses her ability. It also freezes frequently when AI is playing it when she uses her ability.
I had 2 J2 losses in this last event because I refuse to take it anymore. I'd rather go down fighting than to down to a freeze. I'm hardcore like that.majincob wrote:bken1234 wrote:

I should have worded better. I think they should lock the card down and remove it from decks-- not take it away.
I don't think people should be able to use cards with known issues as a defense or sabotage strategy and especially with Flameblade -- it's a widely known issue and I probably saw her at least once every charge this event. I might have seen her once overall in NOP.
They already do maintenance immediately after every event so maybe they could work something in?0 -
I've honestly never experienced any freezes with Thing and I use it. I've had it damaged by berserkers/spells, bounced in first/second forms, etc etc. Maybe reporting your device and OS version could help too?0

That's included when you submit a ticket so it would be good here, too. Thanks!0 -

There are definitely problems with WttF. In the last event I stole a Kalitas with it, but my opponent kept the activated gems... when he triggered one, my new Kalitas ate his Relentless Dead, and gave me a Zombie token. I thought this was hilarious until my team got too big to stop and I lost out on my secondary objectives0 -
That flameblade angel locked me out of the game last avacyn. Lost all my progression and couldn't load the game at all for two days. They fixed me eventually, but no compensation of course. When one card is bugged so bad it literally locks someone out of the app completely, and freezes other players regularly, time for that card to go. Flameblade sucks anyway, I also wouldn't be surprised if people added it to their red decks so opponents facing them in the events will get freeze losses. Why else would you ever use it? Bugs aside, the card is useless unless you just really need a red flier. The fact that this issue is common and has been with thing in the ice (which they used in avacyn KNOWING it was bugged) and it hasn't been fixed is very frustrating. Hopefully the next update, changes will be made. It's been long enough, if this next update passes without fixes on these cards, the devs obviously just don't care.0

Activation gems will work for the original owner.
In your case it did damage original owner zombies to buff himself.
This is true if by the time you stole it gems were already gnerated(if not, no strange behavior happens usually).
I still remember the fun of stealing a priest of the blood rite whose trap activation did damage my opponent.
Just to add insult to injury0 -
I had a thing in the ice freeze when my opponent cast decend upon the sinful (or vice versa - I don't remember if I was the person descending or being descended upon). That said, I've never had it freeze from an opponent's aggressive creature hitting mine, or shooting it with Avacyn's Judgement.0

Once cause descend upon did kill the board and once cause those would be returned to the hand.
Not sure if with no token it can also freeze.
P.s. Token on any side of the field.0 -
Thing in ice and flameblade angel do cause freeze games. This is a known bug for weeks.
Also, to the author of the thread there.is already a bug thread for each one. You might want to add your complaints in those threads, since there's a better chance the developers will read them there.0 -

Oh, I have sent tickets and posted in the Bug thread. The General Board is a better place to get many people to contribute to a working list, as people generally don't go to the bug thread unless they feel really passionate about assessing a particular bug.0 -

If it gives you any comfort, I am not personally putting bugged cards into my non-event decks just to screw you up in an event.0 -
please continue to put ThingITI in your decks, stealing it with wttf is my absolutely favourite thing to do at the moment. not one freeze.0

I will as soon as I have a critical mass of playable Horrors, hopefully with the next set. Though probably not my Saheeli Rai deck, because that deck is built around Thopters and not with Kiora, because that deck was built to annoy shteev.0 -

Who needs other horrors? Thing doesn't need any other thing.0 -
Thing in the Ice is great, except it totally clashes with the other best horror in blue and the best planeswalker to run with.
Thing in the Ice + Unravel + Forgotten Creation on Jace2.
TitI gets so big it will never flip and never attack and never block, it just takes up space that exert influence and madness exert influence need.0 -

This is why I was suggesting Thing transform after 4 spells/supports independent of damage taken/toughness trigger. Buffed/reinforced Thing = penalty and it shouldn't be this way.0
