Geier Reach Bandit/Olivia interaction not working as expecte

Case:
The player's battlefield has two creatures on it: a Vildin-Pack Alpha (transformed Geier Reach Bandit) on the first slot, and an Olivia, Mobilized for War on the second slot.

The player charges a Geier Reach Bandit in hand and plays it (the "played card").

Expected result:
1) [Vildin-Pack Alpha effect] the played card gains +3/+3 & Haste and transforms,
2) [Olivia, Mobilized for War effect 1] the player discards a card, and
3) [Olivia, Mobilized for War effect 2] the played card gains +3/+3, Flying, Haste, and Lifelink.

Actual Result:
1) [Vildin-Pack Alpha effect] the played card gains +3/+3 & Haste and transforms, and
2) [Olivia, Mobilized for War effect part 1] the player discards a card, then
3) nothing.

Speculation: watching the animation, it looks like Olivia's buff has a reference to an object that no longer exists.
