The goons he's with generate green AP. Don't worry, I knew this going in and I was still surprised when he cast Call The Storm. Doh!0 -
Both goons are generating green ap in that fight I believe so he builds up green ridiculously fast. With a green match a turn 2-3 call.of the storm isn't out of the question.0

I did not let him have any green AP yet her dropped 2 consecutive green powers on my team. It cost 14 each to use how is this possible?? Can anyone shed some light on this subject please?
I imagine that they did this on purpose. He just sits there and casts the strongest attack in game over and over. Throw Patch and hulk or Patch and Spidey at him and the joke is on him. I do hate LazyThor.0 -
Even a weak Spiderman helps a lot here because the goons will use Rocket with a fairly high probability if Thor doesn't use Call the Storm (which he can't while stunned) so even if you can't get a stunlock, having a Goon use a Rocket instead of Call the Storm will make your life considerably easier.0

The combination of enemies the simulator throws at you each round tend to get harder and harder, so we'll probably come across even nastier combos by the end.0
-
Hard to imagine a worse combo than the Devil Dino / Modern Storm / Juggs(?) in the Jungle from last time.0

That thor fight ends up being much much easier than the similar fight with patch. Now that one is annoying! The one problem I do have with the Thor fight is the minions generating 4 green per turn instead of only 2 per turn.0

Lvl 230 Devil Dino + Bag-Man + OBW
I want this. And I want Yelena to be a required team-up.0 -
Those were hard fights.
You guys won't admit it though, but level 230 Invisible Woman with the goon and Punisher was near impossible for some of you, I know because of the mega points and I was reading the forum. That was my fave fight of all time. ALL TIME! Because I severely underestimated her and I had to think about my team comp and cycle through some characters to finally get her down. That was a proud moment and I want to do it again, and also feast on all of y'all's tears because tasty.0 -

Is this the strongest attack in the game? I would have guessed GSBW green or BP black.0 -
Call the Storm does slightly less damage than Rage of the Panther/Sniper Rifle but the damage distribution is more favorable. Taking out one guy is almost always preferable than spreading the damage around, and the 4K/2K/2K distribution means it will almost always take out a guy (the guy receiving 4K) without wasting any damage. It's also better for defense because you can envision a case where say 3 guys all survive with 1K left and they might be able to turn things around, while it's almost certain at least one guy dies after a Call the Storm and that'd usually break up whatever combo the other team was going for.0

I won that fight with:
15 Doom (required)
57 Classic Storm
40 Modern BW (could have been anyone with < 3000hp)
Collect blue until Thor uses Call The Storm which puts everyone below 50% and triggers Raging Tempest (you have to make sure Doom is tanking). Use Storm's blue or whatever you can to finish off Thor.0 -
^Agreed. C.Storm will do the job super easy.0
-
I think this fight was a direct result of us calling him lazy Thor.
"You want to see lazy Thor? I'll give you lazy Thor!!!"0 -
He's so lazy, he has mooks to generate AP for him.0

Some games, IW did absolutely nothing, but one game she randomly placed a cluster of bubbles surrounded by environment tiles, and then dropped a ~300 point defensive tile behind them. It was a really frustrating insta-lose situation because there was just no way to interact with that part of the board. Her design is just so lousy in that she just manages to increase variance in a game that is already mostly random.0 -

I don't think that means design is lousy, I think it means be on guard for anything. Which would be true for IW in the comics, I mean she wasn't just defense with her invisible powers, although that is indeed formidable enough, but it can also get creatively offensive at times. And anyway, the counter strat is right there in game, use a board shatterer or suffer the consequences.
Mostly I learned not to let force field crush go off. Ouch.0 -

Replace Modern Storm with Bagman and it's way harder because you no longer have Spiderman.
Not really. A boosted strike tile character, high lvl magneto, punisher with 5 in red, and some others are still more valurable than Spiderman ...especially if your opponent is being forced to use Bagman as the tradeoff.0
