clear 3 of the Totally Awesome Hulk essential in sub 2 was challenging, but not OMGWTFBBQ.

Clear 4, the muscle is suddenly throwing out strike tiles that do 750 additional damage EACH and I'm getting obliterated because Bullseye is matching off purple tiles and I can't nuke the muscle down fast enough.

Anybody have recommendations for how to tackle this?

I had the same problem until an alliance-mate recommended OBW. Had the same reservations you're probably having right now. But it worked! IM40 was my third...get the blue built up as fast as you can, get recharge off, however you can do it. Then spam OBW's blue as necessary. Don't let the big bald a-hole get the CDs off. Cho's green even came in handy to wipe CDs out. The other two are cake once Muscle is gone.

You might try respeccing IM40 to 5/3/5, though...If you're using OBW's blue, you'll need the punch from his red.

I commiserate. That node is brutal. I got 4 clears on it, barely. I tried hitting it a 5th time for scoring and wiped twice. Muscle strikes were at 1100. I couldn't get enough Iso for any sort of nuke before the lieutenant healed everyone back to starting health. It's a miserable combo for players.

My attempted pairings were OML/Switch, OML/KK, 4hor/Switch. I was considering bringing along protect destruction via Ctp Marvel or Daredevil, but ran out of time to try this morning..

Switch-Elektra? Race to purple and just flip the muscle tiles whenever they cast. Cho and Switch both doing things to blue should help get rid of the tommy guns.

    I used IM40/4thor

she will do some damage with Cho throwing out his charged tiles

Quake and Antman - capture those strike tiles for your team and block the AOE damage of the thug tommy gun - Cho will even generate green for Quake AOE to end it quickly

I used OML (270 2/3/0) purely as a tank, and used Loki as my second. Added some boosted +2 Black AP. Once you get enough black, flip Bullseye's Shields to make Strike tiles. Build up Black and drop some OML Strike tiles, keep getting black. By this time you should be making progess on killing that Lieutenant, hopefully he's healing everyone instead of the muscle dropping Threaten's. Let him heal everyone as you are building AP... you don't want enough yellow or OML will stop healing when you use black.

Once Lieutenant is dead, hit the muscle and match his tiles, except for one... let him get off one Threaten if you have enough black for Loki. He drops two attack tiles, OML takes the hit from the match damage, then flip those tiles into protect tiles.

Match more black and yellow and you are free to flip OML over and spam yellow. Your strike tiles should be enough to overpower any of Bullseye's protect tiles he may be dropping.

I didn't try it without OML, but Cho isn't dead weight anymore if you have him leveled at all, his green will help you destroy some protect or CD tiles you are worried about.

I haven't actually had a chance to try it out, but at least on paper Loki is tailor-made to counter Muscle/Bullseye combos, especially paired with Iron Fist.

    Like a charm. Holy cow.

I got surprisingly good results with a team I tried as a lark. Ms. Marvel and OBW did the trick, although my scaling topped at 232. Ms. took care of the shields and spammed her yellow if I needed to clear the board and OBW did OBW. It wouldn't have worked without Cho's charged tiles, but when they got rolling Cho could easily keep them in blue and green AP, so OBW could heal damage coming in and if I didn't want to spend all the blue mana, either Cho's green or Ms yellow took care of troublesome CD tiles. Worked way better than I anticipated.

Right? I thought, "but, crispynate! She's such a delicate little flower!" OBW is the queen of the world against Muscle, apparently.

OBW with 5 purple can bring down Galactus. She is pretty spectacular.

I personally used drax and ant, didn't have much trouble.

Then again, after getting 8 red I was one-shotting 2/3 of the node, but stealing the attack and protect tiles worked well.

Black-Suit Spidey meant the strike tiles were reduced to 1 and Quake meant the Tommy Gun only did 1. icon_mrgreen.gif

Elektra + Switch is generally my go to for super-leveled goon nodes with muscle. double-dipping on stolen muscle strike tiles is hilarious.

Antman odes the same thing (and he can triple dip all by himself), but I find that he is noticeably slower than elektra, especially against tile movers. She just needs 7ap, he needs 9 blue plus at least 1 turn to actually steal the tiles.

True but Electra needs 7 over and over again.

Ant just needs 9 blue and you have 5 turns of "I'll take that!". Also he takes protect tiles, which is handy

My Quake only has 3 covers in yellow and doesn't have any covers in anything else. I was reluctant to bring her along only to discover she wasn't enough.

Used SWitch and Teen Jean for mine. Teen Jean purple is just the absolute best against goons.

And Jean works against those pesky protect tiles too. That used to be my go-to team for pve for a while.

If you don't have JG to use with SW then I recommend Loki, Daken and Patch.. they have been my most reliable team for over a year

Iceman and scarlet with plus 2 blue and purple most of the time you can stun two of the 3 and then let green do the damage

Hulk and Thor and OML sometimes works too
