Westvale Abbey not working

Hello, I got Westvale Abbey, a construct with 0/35, and put Gideon, battle forged loyalty 1 on it. The card doesn't say it cannot block yet when it has vigilance and +1/1, it will not act as a defender.
Is this a bug or working as intended? The text should be clarified if it is a bug, otherwise please fix this amazing card!
