What happens when someone joins/leaves an alliance?

So lets say someone with 5K points that he earned BEFORE he joined the alliance. Is his score then just added when he joins in?

Also when someone leaves, do their entire score leave the alliance, or do points earned while part of the alliance still count for their score?

    Leave: points subtracted.

    The score is just a count of the score of each member of the alliance.
