I've been really impressed with how Sorin plays now.

His abilities are all relevant, he's much more fun to use and you have much more options deck building wise without the creature/support/spell limitations he had previously.

Nice Job Devs icon_e_wink.gif

On a side note: There seems to be a lot of positive changes in this update, overall game seems to have improved massively icon_e_biggrin.gif

They did a great job with Sorin.
The only problem with his skills is that all are based on creature in play.
So if your board gets cleared your skill can't help in getting back in the game, while other planeswalker have at least one that can help in that.

Agreed. I like new Sorin a lot, but he has that same weakness that Gideon 1 has. It's nice when everything goes according to plan and you gain WAAAY too much life with Sorin, but when things go badly, it usually doesn't mean that all that excess life suddenly matters... it usually means that all your creatures are dead and you can't gain that extra life as a result.

This must be the best change from this patch. I love the new Sorin! Great work, guys!

Agreed, new Sorin is super fun and worth the cost/wait. Feels much more like his paper Magic card, and makes for lots of fun black/white builds. Kudos devs!

    Thanks Devs,
The new reworked Sorin is much appreciated. I like not having to be tied down by the lifelink mechanic in order to gain benefit from his 3rd ability. now his 2nd skill well give players the means to take advantage of his 3rd. leaving us with more flexibility to play what we want without thinking it unwise to skip cards with health gain.

Good upgrade, especially with spell/support increase. At lvl 58 and after a dozen games, he feels like in the middle of power level.
Would like to have his 2nd ability support to have 4 "hp" and his 3rd ability to be a bit cheaper tho, or have some sort of destruction ability/token creation like in the actual paper version.

So far for me he's struggling with fast decks, Chandra, and decks with support destruction. Otherwise I like him.

I haven't used him much in Quick Battle, but in the Avacyn event he's ungodly strong against quite a lot of enemies. Barring mass destruction effects (Engulf the Shore and first strike + Always Watching... DAMMIT THAT ENGULF THE SHORE!!!!) *ahem*, once his second and third abilities go online at the same time (or even just the second, in some situations), victory is very much assured.

Otherwise, his abilities by themselves rely too much on what cards he has. The second ability works wonders with things like Bloodbound Vampire and Cliffhaven Vampire (and that rare guy, what's the name again?), while his third ability is mainly supported by lifelink. But enough of that; overall, I'm pleased with his boost. Probably not best tier yet, but strong.

In general I think Startled Awake is the hardest encounter in this event, but that's another topic.
  • The changes got me to buy him with spare crystals

I love the new Sorin. His powers give you a lot of leeway. You don't need to protect him at all as he'll eventually heal and at 4 in both yellow and black he's fast enough to dominate most of games.
