Just as I'd decided to use it to have a run a top 5 in the next event.
If you can't beat em join em.
Oh well in all honesty it was great to give newer players a help up but it was abused by many of the players who have been around for a while and really didn't need it to help them win.
RIP runway carriage.

I only used RC in one competitive deck, Gideon1. (White isn't my strong suit)
But they could have changed the card without making it so terrible.
•Maybe once it's dealt combat damage to a creature it's prevent damage is removed.
(I'm so sick of wallet warriors playing Avacyn and basically wiping my board)
•Or something similar to counters from paper, after 1-3 turns it loses prevent damage, etc.

Just my two cents.

Honestly, it probably would've been acceptable had they made it so that Runaway Carriage also loses prevent damage when it BLOCKS, so as to give berserker decks some chance against a vigilance Runaway Carriage.

But I suspect the removal of Prevent Damage also has something to do with the unintended side effect of the ability; as I mentioned somewhere (and as some of us know), if Runaway Carriage gets blocked by a first striker, the first strike damage gets prevented despite the fact that the Carriage clearly gets BLOCKED. Whether this is a bug or something, whatever. I still think this card will still be played by some people; after all, aside from Languish, this fella shuts down Nixilis BtB decks handily by preventing targeting.

I'm just glad I don't have to play True Faith Censer in nearly every deck just to deal with that one card.

All my decks just got better now that I don't have to have a couple of RC protection cards in each one. Thank you!
