Scaling killed hard mode for me...

After clearing normal mode and doing few battles in hard mode all nodes became deadly, except 2 hard. Theres almost no chance for me to win any battles now, maybe only if Ive luck with cascades. Is this the way it should be working? Im still noob here, 14 day of playing today, I was using ** Wolvie 38 lvl, 14 lvl Ares, 50 lvl MStorm combined with MBW 20 lvl and 9 lvl OBW (for getting stuns, little heals and stealing AP). Now enemies are 80-100 lvl, am I basically punished for good playing? I read scaling depends on your performance so if I was trying to reduce damage it was...bad? Cause now Im feeling like game is showing me middle finger for my efforts.

  • Don't worry about hard mode. Stick with normal and the game will stop making dirty hand gestures towards you. icon_e_wink.gif

I think hardmode was meant for people with more developed rosters: id just stick to normal mode for now.

This. It honestly won't be long before you've developed your roster enough to take on most of the challenges the game throws at you. You just have to be patient.
  • Hard mode is actually meant to be pretty hard. That said, fighting level 100s with levels is no harder than fighting level 230s with level 141s if you don't have some broken combos. Of course, guys with level 141s do have broken combos, but on the other hand at the lower level you also have Modern Storm who also does some of the most broken combos in the game too.

Meh but without points from hard mode and Psylocke only nodes I rather wont have a chance for interesting rewards (** tokens and obviously OBW covers). After clearing normal mode was 3 in subevent, now Im 66. In general bracket was in top100, now dropped to 210. And I got most points from hard mode (5,4 k compared to 3 k from normal mode) so if wont be able to do hard mode theres little chance for me in this event. Idk, maybe Im just whining icon_razz.gif But in Hulk event I started after 2-3 days and still got top26 k and Wolvie cover...

But Im still not sure if this is working as should, I had similar problem during HC Juggernaut when few nodes became hard. This means Im doing really good for my current roster?

Edit: Anyway cheers for post guys and explanation, it seems I just got wrong idea after previous events and must just wait for luck with covers and better roster.

The nodes are designed to be hard for everyone because if they are not you're going to have a lot of people grinding stuff down to 1 and fight it out, and that's just dumb for everyone involved.

To do well in PvE events you always needed to have a decent required/major boosted characters. I mean, if these boosted characters don't make an impact, why even boost them in the first place?

And everyone thinks "better kill them fast before they start to scale out of control", which causes them to scale out of control icon_e_smile.gif
