So I've been working the versus matches to gain iso, and for taking purposes.

When just milking iso, I'll win one, then lose one, and my MMR stays about the same.

My question is, is there any way to know how many points your going to lose when you tank a match?

I'd like to slowly work towards progression awards while milking iso by picking to tank matches that'll cost me the least. Any way to know?

  • The amount of points you lose is based on the difference between your opponent's score and your own.

The closer you are, the less you lose. If you are above an opponent, you lose more. If you are below an opponent, you lose less.

Keep in mind that your MMR is going up when winning, and down if losing. The problem with your strategy of trying to max win points while minimizing losses will result in your MMR growing.
  • The more a match is worth to you, the less points you lose yielding. The amount you lose also depends on your current score. Until you get high up, I think you should expect to lose about 15 points if a win would give you 25.

Shield vs rewards aren't worth the time it takes
  • You can make an estimate from the point gain figure. 50-N would be close if you're in high point and probably way less if at the low end. In any case if it shows more than 25 you lose not much and over 40 you lose about 0.
