Banner downed when he shouldnt be

My 5 hulk is downed in char selection screen but wasnt downed in the actual match...what gives?
Is it adding hulks lost health to banners and if that total is greater than banners total health reading him as downed?
If so why? Nothing in the char description speaks of this?
