Missing points in SHIELD Simulator after disconnect?

I got just a blue/gray screen with a circular design after winning the match. Closed out and when I reopened the app on iPad, got a "check internet connection" message after a few moments of "loading". Disconnected and reconnected to wifi, got back in and got my reward for the match. However, no points awarded. My score is the same as going into the match. By the way, this "check internet connection" seems to happen a lot for this app despite me being able to browse and use other internet connected apps.

    Update: I went back after doing some Story mode and my score and rank have increased. Not the amount I was expecting, but still increased. Weird.
