Hey developers ! Here is an idea - "MAKE EVERY CHARACTER GOLD!"

You want OBW to be 3 star ? Pay 20,000 hp to unlock.

You like classic Hawkeye? Pay 40,000 hp to unlock him as an awesome 4 star!!!

    He'd still suck.

I see the future of the game, and it looks like this :

    1) 3 star characters are now being given out like candy…
    ...
    16) I begin to wonder why I am still here?

    Shortened to save redundency.

This is your opinion, not everyone will share your opinion, it does not make it right or wrong, just yours.

Everyone will stop playing at some point while new players will come in, new content will be added, characters will be adjusted (nerfed or buffed) and events will come and go. The game at its core is just a match 3 with RPGish elements thrown in. All characters will have diffrent strengths and weeknesses, and we will always laugh at Bag Man. These are facts.

I say don't worry about what may happen, enjoy the now. and look up from your screen every so often to enjoy the day.
  • I am on day 140 playing. The changes have been staggering. I would like more 4 stars but that is what makes them special. I play very heavily and find it very hard to fully level every character. The game has introduced alliances and I am awaiting the full effect to the game hasn't occurred.
  • They are already killing the game. Every new update is one more nail in the coffin. I've been playing less and less, having less fun, and being more stressed everytime due to their **** **** implementations.

This game will die soon. And I haven't spent a cent on it, and I'm sure I won't nowadays unless there's a drastic change.

Want a good F2P game without paying? Go play Marvel Heroes. It's fantastic in every way you can imagine.
  • So quit and good riddance.
  • I don't so much mind the diversity of characters, but I do wish that roster slots were at a flat rate, and not an increasing one. I accept and agree with the argument about balancing the game through more choice, and that the MMO curve requires new loot with higher advantages, but don't charge me a fortune to hold it!

It can increase at the start, but cap it somewhere.

    2) Soon everybody will have one
    3) Then at least 50% of all players will have 141 teams..
I don't think these premises are true -- I'm trying to transition from a maxed 2* team to one with 3*s, and it's very slow going. There have been several moves that slow progress, including the increased number of 3*s (so it gets harder to max any one character from 3* rewards), and newer iterations of events often have a more restricted set of top rewards than earlier versions, some of which (like lightning rounds and global PvE rankings) will be restricted further by a growing userbase.

Just what I was about to say. I see the opposite happening as the OP suggests, and that the game is throttling down on how many covers are earned or randomly acquired. Even ** reward covers have been changed to be a trickle compared to previous rewards. The only area that has seen any giant release of covers was the latest Alliance related rewards, and that was essentially a trial run, and is likely to change.
  • The future is obvious.

    Kung-Fu Pandas.

    2) Why not allow monetization through non-gameplay enhancing features? Give me a way to customize my profile and characters. Listen up D3, it's real simple. Make customes for every character and sell them. OMG, a black custome for Spider-man for 400 HP? Sold. Red Hulk? Sold. Maestro Hulk for 1000 HP? Sold! But this allows people to invest their money without breaking the game.

    3) How about DLC? More single player content that's sold separately.

Why they haven't implemented both of these features but instead insist on pushing out new character after new character is beyond me. It's such a no-brainer.

I fought so hard to get all my Patch covers and max him as my first 141 because I absolutely LOVED that part of Wolvie's history, and that cover with Hulk is indelibly printed on my brain. It's this attachment to the iconography of the characters that holds the most potential from a money-making point of view, and they're not capitalising on it enough.
