Whatever matching system was applied to quick battles needs to be put on events. It gets old being matched against opponents twice my level who don't have to beat me, just outlast me on hitpoints. I may do 8-10 damage a round to them all they have to do is 2-3 and I lose.

Playing Silver tier NOP against opponents 20 levels higher than me. That's usually isn't fun. If its not fun, why do it?
  • I've seen a lot of complaints regarding the disparity between levels in the event matches. My personal experience in the last Nodes of Power was every PW I fought was a level 60. My highest PW is level 50. I am silver tier. I only have 2 mythic cards in my inventory. I didn't do too bad, placing in the top 500. The developers have stated that the tiers were created to offer a fair contest. My issue with the event is that many of my battles were against the same players, again all level 60. Many of these players had so many mythic cards that it was impossible to beat them. My suspicion is that they were not leveling into gold tier on purpose and sandbagging their progress n order to prey on newer and weaker players. I have only played this for about 6 weeks and find it a bit discouraging to see this, especially the part about fighting the same impossible to beat players time after time.
The last Nodes of Power that I participated in was different and I have seen references in the forum regarding how it used to be. You weren't locked in to a certain player and could actually switch until you found an easy match. Also the level difference was maxed out at 10 levels. I can see how this would be an easy way for players to take advantage of the way the tournament is set up in order to gain a high placement. In the last tournament it was pretty easy for me to find a decent match up that I had a viable chance of winning with only a few swaps in opponents. This was mostly due to the 10 level max difference.
My suggestion would be to keep the 10 level max. It is has to be pretty discouraging for new players to face maxed out opponents. Another suggestion would be to allow swapping out opponents, but put a limit on the number of swaps. I would say 3 swaps and then then if you had not picked an opponent by that time, you would be locked into the 3rd opponent.
