Welcome + Priest

So... I had my Priest of the Blood Rite out, opponent used Welcome to the Fold.

Opponent ended up with the Priest, the Demon and I kept the traps.

Is this by design or a bug? I haven't found too much info on traps/activated gems interacting with change-control effects...

Edit: Another changing-control question: Say I have Priest out, opponent steals it. They get a demon. When I get it back, I don't get an additional demon. That goes for other ETB effects as well. By design or bug?

Edit x2: it seems I've run in to more issues this tournament then ever. I steal Hangerback Walker, I sacrifice it. Opponent gets the thopters. Wut?

    There are many strange mechanics

You can check topic in my signature.
    Short answer is:
    - stealing creatures trigger "enter the battlefield effects.
    - if the steal is temporary the following rule apply... It is treated "as if" it's still in original position so bouncing goes to original hand or library, death effect trigger for original owner and it goes in original owner graveyard
    - if steal is permanent instead all the above work for the current controller.

    - activation gems for controlled creature if were created under original controller turn the benefits(or like in your case Malus) apply to original owner.
If not(stolen before creating activation gems) it works as expected.

Good to know, thanks for explaining.

Coming from playing the card game, I kinda expected super technical rules. Or maybe a good rulebook on how everything interacts.

I think many of us wish there was...
