Progression Rewards in PvP an idea

So everyone complains, Progression rewards are unreachable for the 99% and I agree. Which is why with a little bit of power programming the Devs could solve the issue.

What if, 2 sets of points are used. Your total Shield Points earned, vs. your Shield Point totals. So if I get up to 500 in rank, then lose 100 points, my PvP rank will be 400, but for progression rewards I will still be at 500. This would alow the Devs to set reasonable numbers for prizes while at the same time creating a choice for players. Do I lock in at my 850 Score, or do I grind to get some progression prizes. This solves a lot of problems, one, those constant shielder's who blast their way to the top then spend ungodly amounts of HP to stay there, encourages people to play instead of sit, would encourage more play as people would be willingly to grind out fights to get those progression rewards.

As it is now, if someone gets a progression reward it's a bonus, most people will sit in their bracket and unshield only when they feel their top spot is threatened, with allowing a current score and a cumulative it would create a more diverse PvP enviornment and encourage all players to keep playing.

  • That makes the ladder meaningless -- you can harvest "infinite" amount of points by just keep playing/retreating never to go above 100 ranking and get all the progressions. Which are meant to be at certain heights one must reach.

With the cumulative system only puny prizes would be offered, not HP or *** covers.

(As much as those are considered an "offer" put in the unreachable range and shifted back once getting achieved actually.)

I consistently place Top5 and never even sniffed at a 3* progression reward. So one thing is for sure, the current system is ****.
  • I personally think you just should not get points taken away for defensive losses. The computer does not fight like you, players can tailor their teams to beat yours but you can not even set a defensive team that is separate from your offensive one. I wish you could only lose points when you fight and you lose. If it was live pvp it would be a different story.

That would be awful, you'd have to grind endlessly to win

Grinding and earning more points (and possibly more progression awards) would be way better than the current system of grinding, spend HP, grind, lose 100 pts, spend HP, grind, lose more pts, spend HP.

I like the idea above. The way I currently play I place in the top 20 consistently with minimal shielding and usually settle around 600-700pts. Within that I probably lose at least 100-200 pts, making my total accumulation around 900 max. So for a player like me there would actually be more incentive to go for 1000-1400. But how it's set up now, it is so far out of reach I just don't bother.

I think they need to throttle how much you can be attacked. I have thought about it quite frequently and my solution seems pretty simple.

You can be attacked once at most within a certain threshold lets say 5 minutes but this reset every time you start a battle. This would protect you from getting annihilated with -40s in under a minute but wouldn't stop you from getting into a slug fest if you were hammering out fights once a minute at the end of a tournament. At least after you finished a match you would have a few minutes to decided what to do or pick a new opponent before getting nailed again.
