Does AI try to combo abilities?

I swear, the last 3 times I've fought a Punisher AI, he waited to cast on me till he could green + black. Does the AI do this intentionally? This makes me fear that the robot apocalypse is near.

I haven't paid much attention to it, but my Patches has been killed a few times when the opponent had enough to take him down in one turn. It would be pretty cool if this wasn't a coincidence and the opponent did strategize a bit more.0

Sometimes it feels like they do this. I swear, the levelled Lazy thors intentionally to wait until they can use Red, yellow, and Green abilities on me.0

Every opposing Punisher I've encountered recently has saved up AP and then used skills in the order Red-Black-Green (thereby dealing minimal possible damage and often destroyed the Molotov countdown).0

That's the punisher I've grown to know and love fighting.0 -
The enemy saves up AP If they have a skill that uses more AP of the same color, but will randomly use the cheaper skill. The chance is higher if the difference between the two skill's cost is small (e.g. Berserker Rage versus Judgment). Otherwise I've seen no reason to believe the AI tries to combo anything. The AI most likely do not even know what any of skills do (for example look at how they place tiles), let alone try to combo them.0

I think the AI is set to save abilities to combo down your lowest health hero if possible, but not to combine specific abilities.0

I'll believe the AI got a little brighter when it uses Web Bandages after a web.
As it stands, the Punisher and Thor chains might be getting the AP from cascades from the tile abilities, or the order that the abilities were ready the previous turn.0 -
I have never seen Punisher fire off his green before his black, though about half the time he fires them off in the same turn. I have a theory that the order of abilities may be tied to the tile damage for a color, but haven't paid much attention to it.
The AI really has no idea how to use tile placing abilities. I think GSBW's purple is the only ability I want the AI to fire off; it usually never results in a match and lets me collect some green.0 -
I love it when the AI matches their own countdown tiles, and ignores matches that would eliminate mine.0

I have noticed that the AI will prioritize characters with the least amount of hit points, which usually means my OBW
I at one point had a 5800 Thor, Punisher at 1400, and OBW at around 2900. Most of the time the AI unloads on my OBW whenever they can, but she was in the front matching blue and purple and the AI had the AP to kill her, instead they waited for Punisher when I matched a 4 tile red, then unloaded0 -
It seemed yesterday like the AI was smarter about combos. Punisher always used green then black. Or another char would hit me before Punisher used red. But we also tend to remember when we are getting hit harder. Playing today and paying attention the combos seem a lot more random.
The part that is harder to figure out, is which char will use abilities. Sometimes char 1 will use 8 red, but sometimes it will save up for char 2 to use 12 red. Or they are waiting for you to put a certain char on the front line for them to hit. Because of this saving of the pools I think that you can get hit with more combos at once, when it all lines up.0 -

I noticed this yesterday. Facing a lvl 100+ patch/pun/thor team with my underlevelled 50ish team bc i wanted that challenge. I was losing until Patch popped his green i think, and suddenly even my match 3s were doing 1000+ and I downed the entire team with just matches.0 -

I noticed exactly the same, specially when she's down0 -
The AI does not prioritize on lower HP characters. It's just those guys tend to die when they randomly get hit by the AI's ability which makes you notice it more.0

What makes you so sure about that? I've seen numerous cases where the AI held of one or even several abilities till a hero in one shot range came in front. It could be cognitive bias like you say, but I think the AI has some priorities.0
