PVP - Honour the points shown for opposition

Here's the scenario. In PVP, I'm shielded at 890, about to attempt a hop to 1000. I queue up some targets, they are all around 50 points, I should easily do it. I check the leader board. I can't see them around me at #33, they're not in the top 10 of my bracket. I make a note of the alliance names, check the leader board again, they're not visible around my alliance at #3333, nor are they top 10. So I have to rely on what's presented.

10 minutes later, not one of the wins has given me more than 35 points, and someone hit me for 40 points while I was playing. And I need to buy a new tablet as in frustration I've thrown mine across the room.

So, the suggestion (which possibly has been made before) is to honour the points displayed at the start of the battle, at least where they pertain to my gain. You can recalculate the opponent's gain / loss (and my loss) using our relative points at the start of the battle (after the battle), but if I win, leave mine alone.

It's not like it's a zero-sum game, so that's not a valid objection.

I have never recieved any different points to what has been presented to me. With all your prep work beforehand did you go into the node without re-checking the points beforehand? I've notced that the points value drops with nodes in time, I've been faced with 40+ point nodes in one work break which turned into 20+ points in the next break.

All I can gather from this is that you put far too much time into research, who cares what alliance positions people are in? I think most people base their battles on wether they can take on the three people presented over numbers and statistics that don't matter.

The most important lesson you should really take from this is that you shouldn't throw things that cost you money because of a game. My six year old throws hissy fits but doesn't break her tablet because something doesn't work on it the way she wants it too.

The score is based on the opponent's score relative to you. If you have the same score you get 38 Points from a win. If the opponent has more Points than you, you get more Points. If the opponent has less, you get less.
The problem is that the displayed Points are based on the opponent's score when you queue them up, but the Points you actually get are based on their score when you win the game. If the opponent's score has decreased in the meantime, you get less than advertised. By going Alliance diving, you can maybe find out what score the opponent has when you attack them, which gives you an idea about how many Points you'll actually get.

Where do I start. It's a scenario, an example of how, even with the best (in this case mostly fictional) attempts at due diligence, information is sparse and you're reduced to relying on what you're told about the points. Scrollable or even searchable leader boards would be helpful, especially the alliance leader board.

It's also exaggeration for effect. I've never actually thrown a tablet across the room, or had a hissy fit, come to that. MPQ can, at times, cause intense frustration, but it is just a game.

I can't help but think that you've somewhat missed the point.

I think a better fix would be to update the points when you head into the team selection screen. It's already fetching data from the server (if a node you selected turns into a retal node, the team composition is updated). The argument against constantly updating the score was the increased load on the server, but if it's already making a call then retrieve their current point value. This way people can simply check by selecting the node and returning back to the node selection screen to see new values

    I like that suggestion.
It happens way too often, that I select an opponent nr 1 worth 45 points, keep him saved, look for someone easier, 1 minute later I give up and just hit guy nr 1, then I get 33 points...
