Playing with obviously broken cards

Some cards, especially in the newest set, are significantly broken. Either they were designed poorly, or they are simply a buggy mess.

Either way, how do you feel about players using cards that are well known as being broken in some way? Are they exploiting the situation, or is it just using what's available as best you can?

I get pretty pissed when I see someone using a Prized Amalgam or other game freezer, but I also realize not everyone visits the forums. Some may not know that certain cards trigger freezes or other adverse effects. However, if you're on the forums and knowingly put in bad cards to take advantage of freezes, you're a real piece of work. Saw an Amalgam in a kiora deck. You can't tell me there was any real reason for it to be there except trying to crash someone else's game.

People are going to do it, because they're playing for prizes, so you have to play around it. Prized Amalgam is causing lockups, so just don't play against blue or black in the Event.

It's been going on for ages. I'm sure there were people deliberately playing Devour in Flames to cause their opponents lockups. Undergrowth Champion was never supposed to survive a Destroy effect, but it did, and it completely defined the QB metagame for a while. People played with Embermaw Hellion for a very long time when it wasn't taking damage correctly.

Think of yourself as a beta tester, because that's pretty much what you are.

Undergrowth champion was specifically supposed to survive destroy effects. It explicitly said so on the card. It was overpowered, not bugged.

I did come across decks that have Prized Amalgams for no conceivable reason other than to be ****. For this... I blame you a little for actually encouraging this behaviour.

You're right, it did say that about destroy effects. What was unexpected was the fact that it's ability still seemed to work when it was Disabled, although because I've said it you'll probably disagree with that. I imagine you're over the moon about the fact that Disabled used to work in a complex, vaguely defined way, and now without telling us they changed it so that it works in a different complex, vaguely defined way.

Don't hate the player, hate the game, yo.

Seriously, that Devour in Flames bug would still be in the game if I hadn't made such a big fuss about it.

Why would I be happy with an inconsistent game?

I don't disagree with most of your posts because it's you. I disagree when you make no sense.

    I guess this qualifies?

Anyone will do what they feel best (and sometimes fair) to win.

For some this can involve making decks less powerful/fun but with higher chances to screw you when played by ai.
In a couple months I can predict there will be some almost unbeatable kiora decks out there.

Some people abuse runaway for both cheesier wins and to kill players that "were stupid enough" to not adjust to the fun meta devs pushed with it.

Some people will even abuse crash mechanics...

Probably most will go away by fixes rebalance and some will get introduced with new content and bugs(bugs seem to be a staple with any new content).
