Cover Trade Idea

I enjoy this game but here's a problem I've been having lately.

I have one level 141 3 star character, and 4 level 85 2 star characters.

I have every other 3 star character (except for one) with between 4 and 8 covers.

Now the problem is, these characters are essentially unplayable at my MMR. However, there are so many characters that getting tournament rewards is almost pointless because you can rarely get the 13 (or even 10 to get to level 100ish) covers without paying the 1250 HP.

What if when you won a 3 star from a tournament, you could pay an HP fee (say 100 HP) to get either a cover you choose, or perhaps a random cover of a character you choose. That way if you do well in tournaments, you can build up your roster to be decent.

ie I got top 10 in Jugg, but it's going to be a while before the 4 Thor characters I have now is any better than the one i had before. I would have preferred paying a small fee to exchange them for something that could potentially be of benefit in the short term (one of my characters with 8 covers for example).

My idea would only apply to tournament wins and not to characters pulled from packs.

What are your thoughts?

    I like it, and I think the "random cover for a fee" version wouldn't have a huge impact on cover-accrual rates.

    Being able to choose a specific cover you want, though, would be too much: imagine someone taking C.Magneto from 4 (not too uncommon for mid-game) to 13 covers in the span of just 3 PvP top-5 placements and 900 HP.
  • If this was a full price game, sure. As a freemium? Lolololololo...*gasp*...lolololololol. that's for the select a character. On the other hand, I've always thought a 3*** pack being an.optional reward in case you didn't like the reward option wouldn't be an issue on its own. Of course, you would never get a nice cover again as players would now have a reason to play every tournement. Your top 10 transforms into a rank 24 and a top 50 reward instead for every tournement due to players that weren't trying now all of a sudden caring.

    Also, unplayable at my mmr translates into "time to drop your pants and open your wallet, which is exactly what a developer wants. Why o why would they NOT want you to reach a point where much more effort is needed, time is needed, or money is needed? A random 3*** pack still has enough chance of **** that it doesn't negatively affect this need for a mild deadzone of progression.
  • I'm doing fine at my MMR and getting consistently in the top 5. It's just that I have exactly one team I can do it with. I'd rather have 2 or 3 characters with 13 covers, than 10 characters with 5 covers (which is a net loss of covers).

    And you can achieve that by opening your wallet.

    If the devs made a game designed to allow you to collect your ideal team without hardship thn why would anyone pay?
  • An idea is an idea. It has nothing to do with paying or not really. You still have to do well in the tournament and pay some hp to do an exchange in my idea. How is paying a cover plus x hp any different to paying 1250 hp? (Yes I know there's a difference...so you don't need to respond with an answer icon_e_smile.gif )
