Server error on the event

I tried to play my first match in the new event and there was an unexpected error, it couldn't connect to the server, so I hit retry a couple of times and then hi cancel.

The error emptied my three attempts at the node and gave me three losses, so I need to wait 12 hours to get the full refill after getting no chances. This was my first attempt and I was already three matches behind where I should have been (even after joining late because of work). I was so frustrated I didn't even bother trying to play any of my other matches and just closed out of the app.

What gives? Anyone else ever see a bug this bad?
