Flameblade Angel

I recently had a game where Flameblade Angel did not operate as its text describes.

In playing against the Heroic Chandra encounter, I had a reinforced (8/8) Flameblade Angel out in 2nd position and a reinforced (10/10) transformed Village Messenger in 1st position, facing a Mage-ring Responder on the other side. Chandra used her second ability to deal 4 damage to each of my creatures. The Angel did not do any damage to Chandra. Next, after Chandra matched gems, the Mage-ring Responder became active. It dealt damage to the Messenger. Still no damage from the Angel. Finally, when the Responder attacked and did damage to my PW, the Angel did a single point of damage to Chandra.
