Cheaty AI?

I know, I know, another whinge thread. Actually, this is a battlestory with a twist, since I'm fairly certain the AI just cheated me.

The scenario:

Thor tourney.
Opposing team OBW/Punisher/Thor.
My team OBW/Patch/Thor.

Opposing OBW is 3/5/5 and on the last turn, matched purple to reach 8 AP.

My OBW is 4/5/4 (because I'm transitioning between builds, but I'm not going to buy covers and she works as well as I need her to). She's covering Black, Blue and Purple. I match purple to steal that important 1 AP.

Opposing OBW uses Aggressive Recon anyway.

So, what happened? The opposing team did not match 5 and collect an extra purple AP, just simply used an ability without the requisite amount.

    are you sure it was a 3/5/5 OBW?
    the 2 cover aggressive recon only cost 7AP

    Yup, first thing I did at the start of the match was check the tooltip for its AR - it read 8 AP.

    How much purple ap did you already have before that last match and how did the ai get all of their purple?

    Stretching my memory a bit here.

    Enemy had exactly 8, so I will assume that was gained from 2 separate match 3's + Espionage.

    Hmm, but after my match, I had 4 AP. This was my second purple match for the game.

    That means:

    I matched 3 previously.
    Enemy matched 3 on 2 separate occasions, stealing 1 purple each time. This puts me on 1 purple and enemy on 8.
    I matched 3, with BW having highest purple strength and 4 points in Espionage and did not steal.

    Blergh. What a terrible situation. I should probably raise a ticket and report it as a possible bug, but that looks like a "no repro" to me.

    For IceIX/Devs,

    How would you like me to report this?
    My team was
    "guest" Thor (effective level 23, 1/0/0)
    Patch (level 129, 3/5/5)
    oBW (level 77, 4/5/4)

    My opponent's team was
    "guest" Thor (effective level 23, 1/0/0)
    Punisher (level 100-141, sorry I can't be more specific; was definitely 100+ and definitely not capped. Didn't check covers, assume 3/5/5)
    oBW (level 85, 3/5/5)

    The rest of the scenario is described above. My suspicion would be a bug in Espionage at rank 4 - I would imagine that the 4/5/4 build represents a very small use case for oBW.

    I think that too. It's too easy to overlook it as AI's AP display is refreshed only when it passes the turn. If there is a cascade and multiple ability use you may see old figures for a minute.

    Yeah, wish it would update it as it goes. You can watch the icons that flash when abilities come available which is updated even when the point totals isn't.

    Haha i was changing it around for new members and my computer decided to throw a fit and mess everything up before shutting down. Stupid Dell. So now i have to wait for my laptop to get fixed before i can change. Good spot though, nobody else noticed lol

    I've another issues with OBW in PvP.

    I faced a mirror team C.Storm 85/OBW 85/"Featured hero"

    Both OBW and C.Storm has same damage on Blue. For whatever reason my Blue were storm tiles, hence Espionage didn't trigger (OBW 3/5/5) however OBW on the other team did trigger Espionage on Blue. WHAT GIVES?

    I know people are going to be like "Do you remember correctly?" and "YES, I do" because I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.

    I ask that people keep an eye out for this next time you face anyone using this setup.

    How were the teams set up? Who was in the middle-left-right slots, or on the boost screen what was the order of the players?

    For tile ownership if number is the same the tiebreaker is the position in team: center, left, right.
