Awaken cards - Useless if effect can't happen

So, got stuck with this in one of my games. Had no creatures out, wasn't drawing any for the life of me, but had 2 Ondu Rising cards filled with mana. However, since I couldn't cast them, I couldn't use their Awaken to summon the hasted plains elementals, making their awaken abilities basically useless.

    I don't see how that's an issue. The awaken cost is just a bonus to the spell, but the spell must be cast. If you have no creatures to cast it on it's totally normal to be unable to do it.

    Honestly, if they can fix a card like Prism Array because it doesn't work how people want it to, and make it even more powerful to annoy the people who don't have it, then they can look at other people's pet cards, as well.

    Personally, I'd quite like to be able to cast Descend upon the Sinful when there are no creatures in play just to get the 2 angels when I have Delirium. Getting Delirium is so friggin' hard to do sometimes...
