The support's effect stays even after the support has been destroyed. That would refer to both the +X/+X and the First Strike if your first creature is Human.

Also, Hope Against Hope does not update the +X/+X when you summon new creatures onto the battlefield.

    Can confirm this. Hope Against Hope neither updates when new creatures come out/are destroyed, or even when new Hopes actually get summoned. It's basically just a spell masquerading as a support.
