I understand this is easily a game changing ability thiugh I am confused my hexproofed creatures are still targeted, and destroyed, by multi target spells or abilities like Chandra's second ability or the blue mythic card that kills all creatures and summons 2 octopuses. Am I missing something about hexproof or is this a flaw in the abilities design?

    Hexproof works fine.

Your creature cannot be targeted by spells, but is not immune to spells.

So every spell that does not need a target will affect hexproof too.

That said, going a little off topic and this is just my opinion, spells and effect that say for istance "kill the first creature" should work on hexproof cause they do not make you target it(you could look at it like a version of paper sacrifice mechanic).
At this moment they do not.

Not that it counts much for balancing purposes, just consistency with the description.

Hexproof works just like it does in paper magic, you can target it, your opponent can't target it. Global effects don't target so they apply to creates with hexproof. They just hit everything.
  • Ok, thanks for the clarification
  • Effects that hit the first creature are inconsistent as to whether they hit hexproof creatures. Most don't, but you can eliminate them with fleshbag marauder.

Hexproof is just a terrible mechanic, Its one of the worst aspects of paper mtg and its the same in this. It's non-interactive and adds nothing to gameplay.

Thank god crush of tentacles works against things like Gaea's revenge, imagine how much crazier hexproof would be if it didn't!

@Rootbreaker, Hexproof is "can't be the target of spells or abilities", Fleshbag is a creature. That's why it works.

And it has an ability that kills a creature.

If targeting were as strict as it is in magic, creatures with hexproof would still be hit by anything without the word target in their card or rules text.

Prism array would disable them, for instance.
