Thought the peggy carter cover this time would make it much more harder to hit 2000. Managed to do it yesterday from 1100 to 2000 pts in about three hours!
I think its actually the opposite (kind of counter-intuitive though). the better the reward, the more people play to higher points, the more points are there to find for matches = easier time of it.

yeah definitely more points in the shield. When I hit 2000, normally I am rank 5, but yesterday I was rank 13. So yeah for sure more points this time around. Makes sense I guess.

So time to hit the shield if you want that peggy carter, apparently it is easier this time!

    I DID IT!

I expect to be mercilessly butchered back down by a thousand points or so now, but I did it :p

3* team of choice: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Hood.

Annoying enough on defence it wasnt being hit much and was picking up some wins top, very kind on Health Packs when I needed to climb.

Didn't use any Shields at all.

Thank you everyone for the advice, apologies anyone I hit multiple times in my last dash to the finish O.o

Those three teams that you mention are great to climb, but indeed candy in defence. I'd recommend doing most of your push in a day or two, in the middle of the season, to minimise the time you'll be up and available and the number of people playing. After you are done playing in a day, switch to a slower but more annoying team such as Hood, She-Hulk and Loki, Kamala and Quicksilver, Cage, Iron Fist and Scarlet Witch, etc. Basically, pay attention whenever a team gives you a much harder time beating them than you thought they would. Chances are that they are a good defensive team.

I bumped into KK/QS/Vision on my last minute climb, and I was deeply suspicious of it...

Got a bit of a slap off of Vision Dense mode hits and a Supersonic AOE. It's an unusual but okay synergy team that the AI isn't completely incompetant with.

I'm solidly into 4* realm, so teams and key strategies differ... but try to follow these general rules:

    * never hit someone worth less than 43 points - their retaliation against you will be worth more than you just won
    * if you need to take a multi-hour break (to wait for health packs), leave a team with high hits, self heals, or good synergy... ProfX and Patches are no threat (and actually really tempting targets).

Be prepared for a gain some, lose some approach... I try to set goals of 1200, 1500, 1700, 1850, (final)... but my final climb is rarely before the last day.

Don't bother shielding - just be aware you'll be hit, and try to play to gain more than you lose (especially by using the 43 point rule)

I would swap out hood for... well... anyone else. With only 5k (ish) hits, almost any 3* can one-shot him. I would prefer IM40... similar AP gen, and way more "tanky"... or if you have Falcon, he's fun to pair with "Luke Fist"... food for thought next season. icon_e_wink.gif
