Enter fight with level 1 1* iron man

I've had this happen twice but when I hit fight for the final time but then quickly hit the back button on my droid I enter with a single level 1 1* iron man.

I've have this happen twice and it only happens when I hit the back button right after entering a fight but before the load screen appears. So far it's only happened in PVE during the Hulk PVE event.
