I've gotten 1110 points in this tournament - yet I ended up in the top 250 alliances, way off the mark for top 100.
That despite combining with my significant other for about 1850 points.

The completely random nature of the 5 man alliance with complete strangers and the lack of means of communication in-game between alliance members means that our alliance got filled with three freeloaders, which also kept on fluctuating.

So even if you are someone who routinely wins PVP or at least finishes top 5, with a free alliance you definitely miss out if you're grouped with randoms.

Yes, of course I'd probably be able to get into any of the big alliances, but that's not the point.

Well said. People who were okay going solo and got the 3 covers and HP at 500 fine are simply "robbed" of it. And it's not changed by any figures showing that overall more HP and covers get distributed to other blokes.

the premature dumping of the half-done feature hurts even more stripping alliance captains the means of meaningful managing their clan.

Though all that was pretty much expected when the fact sheer of alliances had just a single item: cost of next slot.

Actually, less than 20 of the top alliances have 15+ players at the moment.
Rest of top 50 are 5-11 players.
If you're somehow not able to place top 100 with a 5-man (free) alliance, you're honestly not the type of player who'd have been getting any decent rewards before alliances anyways :/
    Well, consider this:

    +1

Some people are real slow to catch it.
  • I'm a low to mid level player. Although I enjoy this forum, I didn't feel that my levels were really were they needed to be (1 maxed 2*) so I just joined an alliance that had a cool sounding name and had rosters that were comparable to mine. I ended up in a top 100 alliance and got the blue BP cover. It still doesn't mean that I have a killer BP now that I did this event. The alliance had 10 people in it and I think we ended up with around 3600. I didn't have to pay anything and I had a good time.

I really don't think 1 BP cover and some HP and ISO should be the end of the world or cause mass outrage. It's very easy to join an alliance and currently it really does next to nothing to affect your game, except give some benefits.

It doesn't change a thing if you know what you are doing and if you allied up with other people who know what they are doing. For random John Does it's a downgrade. And the devs repeatedly expressed that they don't give a **** about hardcore players and only want to cater to the fun of the randoms. So expect more changes to happen soon...
