Affiliation for X-Men retired boost

Will the retired +20% damage to X-Men boost work against 4* Jean Grey. X-Men isn't a listed affiliation and she came out, I believe, after the boost was retired, so I'm not sure if it would be programmed to work against her. My Iceman isn't very good and it would help in the weekly DP fight but I don't want to waste them.

    If I remember correctly there was a post ages ago now by Ice that said yes those sort of retired boosts will still work as behind the scenes the characters are still given those relevant affiliations. It helped with grouping them and applying relevant new powers (like Mr.F support other FF team members) was their reasoning I think.
