How did you beat JG, PX and 4Clops in the last PVE?

I used Iceman/IM40 for this most times. Tried 4Thor/IM40 and OML/XFDP as well. Used a lot of health packs, but was able to get 7 clears. Forgot what my scaling was at.

This node was definitely challenging (and I remember it being so in prior runs of HoD too). Probably spent 10-12 healthpacks on this node while grinding sub 3.

But I have never seen this combo in PvP. Has anyone tried it? Is there something about overleveled ai opponents, or having to use iw, that makes this team scarier in pve than in PvP?

I never used this trio. When I was early in 4* transition my first two max 4* were JG and Cyc. They are a strong pair, but I used Switch as my third most times.

I used Red Hulk with Iceman, stunned whoever was becoming dangerous or close to getting a power off.

Deny purple, drain their green, use either AOE and hope for the best. Last 2 times I cleared that node
it needed a good helping of luck too.

I beat it twice normally. The second time was with Mohawk Storm and Peggy Carter, which was surprising since my Peggy is under-covered and under-leveled. After that, I wiped 5 times, so then I just started whaling.

I tried all manner of things, but ended up just brute forcing it and praying with my lvl 360 OML and Iron Fist. Hardest part for me was deciding who what the biggest threat. The obvious answer is Cyclops, but you really can't focus on him first, because a bad board drop can spell disaster for you with those other two clowns. While my team isn't exactly noteworthy, I did have one battle that was decided entirely by Invisible Woman. I would have been boned without her blue. I left Prof X till last on this particular clear, and he went invisible and buffed several tiles to infinity and beyond. Thankfully most of them were protect tiles, so I had time, but everything I was doing was hitting for -1. I simply saved up 14 blue, locked down all 7 special tiles and his invisibility tile and unloaded all my powers at once to down him. It was glorious. Still not enough to make me want to champ Sue, but it came as close as anything probably ever will.

I took out JG first every time, then usually ProfX unless I had a good way to deal with his invisibility. Even popping OML's claws required 24 yellow AP to do enough AoE to get rid of an invisible ProfX for me. Iceman took 24-36 green, Rulk even more. Definitely JG->ProfX->Cyclops every time for me.

I used 3* Captain Marvel and 3* Mags. She made Red every time she got hit and could stun with black. Used Mags Red unless there were some protect tiles out there then I cleared with Marvel. I required health packs each time but the only times I got wiped is when PX would go invisible before I could down him.

Unless you are just flat against using boosts in PvE as a poster above is. This is the kind of node which damage boosts are a huge help. Unlike ap boosts which are gone as soon as you fire the power accelerated in to. Damage boosts keep on giving allowing you to do that little bit more damage that gets you to the finish sooner.

I beat it only 3 times and didn't get the CP reward because it was just too tough to keep 4clops and Jean from one shot kills on pretty much anyone I could bring.

The one team that had decent success (two wins and two wipes) was IM40 and Beast. Beast was able to hit Prof X when he was invisible with AOE and IW was actually tanking yellow which helped keep IM40 alive. But if Combined Forces went off even once I was in big trouble.

    I did 5 clears.
On the final grind they were level 389,

I used champion red hulk and IM40.
    Invisible woman never got used

I used IM40, 3* Cap (both champed and 183) and IW. I cleared it 4 times, wiping twice along the way, and never touched it again.

Yeah that node was insane. Mine scaled up to 345 (my highest leveled character is 273). I beat it unreliably with x-team and more reliably with im40 and 4got. I suggested to a 4* transitioner alliance mate to use Daredevil (his 4hor is 100) and it worked well for him.

I used 2 health packs in my initial 4 clears using OML 375/DPX - they ended up scaled to 360 for me. In end grind, it took me 14 health packs to clear it a 5th time with the same team. I then cleared a 6th time with OML/Rulk with AP boosts, and a 7th time with whales - OML/Ms Marvel lvl 15 and a DP TU.

That 7th clear is what allowed me to take 10th just barely... so somehow everyone else above me was clearing it just fine. Sigh.

As a 3* transitioner, I did this nightmare node with Patch Loki.

Cleared 4 times, took the CP and ran.

I do recall that when trying to finish the 4th clear a cascade wiped me out of nowhere. Not even 5 matches, it just rained down for the AI and my whole team dropped dead.

I forgot to mention one thing. I remember this node as not being particularly tough when I was in 4* land (I think it didn't exist yet when I was still in 3* land).

I think I used Antman and Hulkbuster for my final clears. I realized that if I denied green PX would help out by firing off his invis so JG wouldn't be firing off her powers. Once PX started generating tiles I would fire antman blue and build up from there. It was still brutal and I needed to use 2 or 3 healthpacks even if I won.

I like that there are tough battles like this. I like seeing PVE rankings determined by who can beat the tough nodes, rather than who grinds the nodes to 1 at the right time.

I only beat this node once at the highest scaling, and it took some luck. I used my 330 OML and IMHB, took out PX, JG, then Cyclops. I ended up with just IW at the end, and her invisibility saved the day.

I have a feeling it would be easier with a champed IW. icon_e_smile.gif

I used OML, IW and..........the Hood. He helped a LOT in slowing down JG. Once she's off the board, 4clops and PX were a lot easier to deal with (use IW blue on PX's invis & protect tiles).

I didn't think of using Hood until I got sick of getting purple-rich boards, then it was easy sailing once I brought him in.

I was in your bracket West, think I ended up overall 5th.
I wasn't even in the running for top 10 after the first day.
But I managed to grind down everything to 0 in the last sub, cleared the JG,PX,Clops node with OML XDP.

3* land here, used lcap and im40, iw has only 1 yellow covers, but she was tanking a lot every battle, I think it was like 50% 50% score after the 3rd clear, I was targeting px at the start always and trying to stun jg, hate that cmag tu, I needed to pretty try to negate all colors, red, yell and blue = cyc, purp, gren = jg, purp = px. I cleared 6 times, was going for the 7 or 8, but I got a party a few hours before the event end and went to bed, didn't wake up XD. With a better covered iw, at leats that green cover would had been nice.

I used IM40+Iceman, boosting Blue and Yellow; added one +1 all AP in the last fights after wiping twice.
