Season 30 meh?

I don't mean to jump ahead of the master post of each pvp season, but I just looked at the rewards for Season 30 and I think it looks pretty...sucky, right?

The season 3* is Squirrel Girl and the Simulator rewards are Sentry (worst character?), Daredevil (good against special tiles, otherwise eh), Quicksilver (better now but not great) and Beast (middle tier). I mean, Peggy is great (I've only played her loaner, I almost never get 4* covers), but I have never reached 2000 points and don't really think I will ever with the way PVP works.

I don't mean to be negative, but I only have DD and Beast rostered. I don't think I'm going to play this season very hard. The only good thing would be the HP for me. Maybe some tokens along the way. Very disappointed with this season's rewards. icon_e_sad.gif

Sentry is certainly in the lower tier of 3-stars, but I wouldn't call him the worst. Ragnarok holds that distinction. I can't defend Sentry very much, but the other ones are more useful than you'd think.

Quicksilver, Mystique, and 2-star Magneto is a team that can punch WAY above their collective levels if you can survive the first few turns. Magneto's purple give you blue. Mystique uses blue to give you black and purple. Quicksilver's black moves tiles to give you blue (or a match 5.) I've taken down LVL 300+ nodes with this team.

Beast is a bit trickier to use, but he teams well as a 3-star place holder for Prof X in the Charlie's Angels team. With Scarlet Witch, you almost always have a blue special on hand for the extra damage from Animal Inside. Black Widow's purple gives you a lot of green. Assuming the characters are roughly the same level, Beast's green at 5 does about the same damage as Sniper Rifle at 5, but shakes the board up twice, giving you a better chance of cascades. I'd really like it if his yellow was a true healing (Beast IS a doctor, after all!!) but it's a minor quibble.

Sure, it would be nice to have the 3-star rewards be Iron Fist, Cyclops, and Scarlet Witch...but it's not completely useless.

Edit - Today's required 3-star for the Deadpool Daily? Beast. icon_e_wink.gif

I have hit 2000 in the last two seasons using Kamala, IM40 and Captain America to climb from 1600 to 2000, and it was not that difficult. According to your Gamependium roster, you have two out of those three championed, and Kamala needs 2 covers to get there. If you manage to get those two covers, then you could try getting Peggy.

I'd rank Ragnarok over Sentry myself, mostly because of combo possibilities. He's pretty good paired with Kamala Khan - cheap red power keep her healing and her purple makes it easier to get the charged green tiles.
Sentry, on the other hand, I pretty much only use when I have to. He can dish out a lot of damage, but he just doesn't appeal to me.
    YMMV of course.

I liked seeing Peggy up there, and just shrugged at the rest.

The game is nearing 40 4*'s - the same number as 3*'s. Season brackets SHOULD look like this:

    Top reward: CP (or LT)
Current 3* rewards: Turned into 4* rewards
Current 2* rewards: turned into 3* rewards
Current 1* rewards: turned into 2* rewards

....but then, the entire game structure everywhere (PVP, PVE, single and alliances) should go that route - 4*'s should be everywhere 3*'s already are.
