My partner and I are cofounding an alliance. We play frequently but have intermittent breaks caused by the intrusion of real life into our playing time. We are interested in allying with other MPQ players who would like to pick up alliance rewards but don't treat this game like it is the end of the world.

We cannot promise: top-5 finishes, fame, or glory.

We can promise: contributing points to events (usually about 1000-1200 between the two of us) and that we will not give you **** if you don't play much/at all in a given event because of work/family/just not feeling like it. Or give you **** about the sub-optimal nature of your roster composition (since I have 14 characters in the level 66-86 range and a whopping one about it). Or give you **** in general. We try not to be jerks.

    You know, despite having no posts in this thread and espousing such a laid back guild philosophy towards events, I think we're doing remarkably well. Five members, mid range level teams, still with two open spots left, and we're ranked around 260 in alliance. I would imagine if we filled out those last spots we'd crack the top 100 somewhat easily.

    Loving this alliance already.

    I promised two people the last two spots in response to a pm so I think we're full for right now (since I don't have any spare HP left to further expand the guild). We'd be happy to have you if the HP come along.

    Cheradenine, are those folks by any chance going to be able to join before Fearless Defenders ends tonight? Also how much are roster spots? I'd like to start setting HP aside to help expand the alliance as we go along.

    It's a sliding scale with the first slot costing 600 HP and so far it goes up by 100 for each additional slot... so the next one will cost 800. (Pricey!)

    I haven't heard back from the two new folks since I said they could join... Guild philosophy says I should be patient icon_e_smile.gif but I could add others in the meantime if they don't mind potentially being dropped while we accumulate the HP to add "permanent" slots for them.

    Vorlik, I may need to make you a "Commander" for you to be able to add roster slots; want to join the illustrious ranks of command?

    Good to know about the roster cost, I'll keep that in mind. By all means, I'll be a commander if you like.

    As far as adding people, yeah I'm all about waiting it out for people, although it would probably make sense to add a few that want to join even if temporarily since we're within striking distance of top 100 right now, with just 11-ish minutes left.

    Mechatoast is on the in-game list of requests to join... I will go ahead and add him in a minute so he doesn't miss out on the alliance rewards for this event, and we can worry about the roster management later.

    Looks like the next tournament is not an alliance-rewards event, so we have a little time to sort out the roster.

    To be clear, here's the present priority list (based on when people asked to join):

    1. Cheradenine (member)
    2. Sophonisba (member)
    3. Vorlik (member)
    4. AJ86 (member)
    5. Joemack13 (member)
    6. stan-tinykitty-lee
    7. buddy of stan-tinykitty-lee
    8. donnwyt
    9. Mechatoast (current member)
    10. Tonzil (current member)

    I do feel like we should honor the earlier requests to join first if those folks remain interested.

    If the rates keep going up linearly, it would cost us 2700 HP to expand to ten slots, which I don't have right now. But I can certainly try to get there so everyone can stay involved.

    In keeping with the alliance philosophy, there will be no hard feelings if anyone wants to switch to another alliance. (Though we'd prefer no one do so in the closing minutes of an event. That's not so cool.)

    All sound reasonable?

    Out of curiosity, are most people busy with real life stuff through this event so far, or attempting to wait until the final day to sneak into an easier bracket for solo rewards?

    I ask because I cracked up when I checked my solo rank in Hard Mode and saw Cheradenine ranked one spot below me, with our combined total accounting for like 80% of our alliance points in that sub event lol.

    I know some of our folks are primarily lower-level so may be spending more time in Normal Mode... (Or life has intervened.)

    EDIT: Heh, checked the standings and now Vorlik is #32, I'm #34, and Sophonisba is #35 in the same bracket.
