New Features / Content

Color Mastery

We are adding a new major feature, called Color Mastery. In a nutshell, Color Mastery is a point system, per color. Color Mastery is accumulated by mastering cards.**
    ● You accumulate points on each card in your deck at the end of every fight.
    ○ Only cards in your deck get points, so you’ll want to mix it up to master as many cards as possible!

● Each card requires different amounts of points to be Mastered ­ few for Commons, lots for Mythics!

● When you Master a card, you gain points in that card’s color in your Color Mastery chart.
    ○ Colorless cards give you small amounts of points in every color ○ Dual­color cards give you points in both colors

● When you enter an event (such as the Nodes of Power event), you will be set in a tier depending your Color Mastery, from Bronze to Gold.
    ○ The event’s color determines which Mastery the game looks at ­ for example, a Blue-­only event would only consider Blue Color Mastery. ○ Events that do not have color restrictions take your entire Color Mastery into account.

● Each Tier in an event gives different rewards, and higher tiers give better rewards!

Event

Nodes of Power
    ● Nodes of Power is the premier
Player vs. Player Event in Magic: The Gathering ­ Puzzle Quest. Battle decks made by other players to win exclusive rewards!

● Face other players for control of the five shards of mana. Each node requires a single Planeswalker that you will use from start to end of the event. Once locked, each Planeswalker you use on that node will fight enemy Planeswalkers and decks crafted by real players. The more victories you earn the more rewards you will win. Reach the top brackets before the event ends to earn the best rewards.

● Rewards: Test your mastery of the colors in the Nodes of Power event. Reaching higher Color Mastery tiers will earn you better rewards.
Bronze Tier: Earn Mana Crystals, Runes, OGW cards and an Origins Booster pack by winning encounters. In addition, climb the leaderboard to win bonus Mana Crystals, Origins Booster Packs and OGW cards. The top five players will receive an OGW Mythic card, 75 Mana Crystals and an Origins Booster pack.

Silver Tier: In this tier, win Mana Crystals, Runes, OGW cards and booster packs by winning encounters. In addition, climb the leaderboard to win bonus Mana Crystals, Origins Booster Packs and OGW cards. The top five players will receive an OGW Mythic card, 100 Mana Crystals and a BFZ Fat Pack.

Gold Tier: In the top tier, you’ll earn even more Mana Crystals and Runes by completing encounters. In addition, you can earn an OGW booster with a guaranteed Rare card. Climb the leaderboard to win bonus Mana Crystals, BFZ Booster Packs and OGW cards. The top five players will receive an OGW Mythic card, 125 Mana Crystals and a BFZ Fat Pack.

New Languages are supported

German, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Italian.

Special Offers

Obtain a selection of limited-­time exclusive cards from Special Offers.
    ● Linvala, the Preserver & Drana's Chosen coming soon!
These cards won’t be obtainable from Booster packs until mid-­August.

System Improvements
    ● Improvement of Sharding on certain back­end services. ● Refactoring of the expiration tokens system.

Bug Fixes

Cards, Planeswalkers & Gameplay
    ● Abilities no longer activate when failing to deal damage to Planeswalker with Orbs of Warding on the gem board. ● Multiple cards' abilities no longer fail to trigger when dealing direct damage to an opponent Planeswalker. ● Correct amount of Activate gems are created when casting Disciple of the Ring card. ● Summoning sickness now functions correctly when a creature cast this turn moves from the first card slot to the second card slot with Strider Harness on the battlefield. ● Card is no longer cast when Gruesome Slaughter's mana cost is filled while there are no opponent creatures on the battlefield. ● Card's mana cost is no longer increased for each reinforcement when a creature is returned to hand while Quarantine Field is on the board. ● Fetched card no longer loses all mana when Ulamog's Reclaimer's ability activates after Bring to Light is cast. ● Opponent's creatures no longer fail to be Destroyed when Smothering Abomination is the only creature on the user's side at the beginning of their turn. ● Plains Elemental tokens no longer fail to receive Lifelink when Ondu Rising's Awaken mana cost is filled. ● Planeswalkers heal correctly in the back end when waiting to heal while in Events. ● Fixed multiple issues occurring when viewing Koth of the Hammer's abilities. ● Creatures with haste no longer fail to attack on the turn they enter the battlefield when returned to the battlefield from the graveyard. ● Fixed multiple issues that occurred when swiping gems after “No More Moves!” pop up displays with Activate and Support gems on the board. ● Landfall ability reacts as expected when matching Void gems. ● Fixed errors related to Sword of the Animist’s use of Equip the Sword. ● Fixed functionality for opponent’s use of Drana's Orders, Slab Hammer, Lithomancer's Focus, Infuse with the Elements, and Might of the Masses. ● Planeswalker's health no longer reverts to the value it was before entering the encounter when closing the app.

UI, UX & Graphics
    ● Colorless gem no longer displays below its position on the gem board when viewing it. ● Fixed text display when viewing Ob Nixilis' Support gem. ● Text now displays in the appropriate language when viewing Facebook Login button. ● Text no longer displays as "22/2" when viewing Zendikar's Roil's description. ● Fixed misleading text descriptions for multiple cards that summon Eldrazi Scion tokens. ● Planeswalker Selection button no longer active when tapping immediately after selecting Enter Battle button. ● Warning now appears when an Event ends and the player will be removed. ● Old Runes values no longer appear above OGW rewards in the Daily Rewards widget. ● Low Health Points prompt no longer displays when selecting Restart button in Results Screen. ● Opponent's name now properly displays when viewing opponent's portrait. ● Section no longer displays solid black when selecting Back arrow after joining an Event.
Progression & Rewards
    ● Players no longer fail to receive 50 Runes when losing the Jace Level 2 Heroic Encounter. ● Players correctly receive intended Rare card(s) after a win. ● Players no longer sometimes receive a Rare card instead of a Mythic for first place. ● Fixed rare instances where players failed to receive Quick Battle rewards. ● Players no longer sometimes fail to receive 50 Runes when claiming rewards after losing.

System & Connectivity
    ● Players no longer returned to Login screen when logging in as Guest after updating device to Android 6.0.1. ● Screen no longer becomes unresponsive when rapidly tapping Quick Battle Reward prompt. ● Fixed issues related to purchasing two Planeswalkers simultaneously.

*Many additional bug fixes also implemented and not mentioned in the above notes.

** UPDATE: The notes originally stated that Planeswalker levels factored into Color Mastery determination. This was not correct and the reference has been removed.

    How will the Nodes of Power PVP be "scored"?

    Is it going to be total number of wins? Win %? Something else?

    By "PvP", it is more like QB with different rules right? Nothing is live. Koth will still try to destroy my supports for 2 mana instead of swapping red gems, mirrorpool will always be cast last and the likes?

    Ob Noxilis will draw a card when at 1 hp
    Reclaim will be cast with no card in hand

    The list is rather long

    To be honest, sounds like the PvE event had better rewards. This sounds like regular QB. If you're not top 10 you don't get the good stuff. I hope that's not the case. Or at least it will be achieveable by new players, because a friend of mine started this month and there is no way he can beat inverter of truth

    So what happens if your color mastery raises a rank while playing in the event? Should I play a bunch of quick battles first to rank up then join the color node event?

    Still no fix for when you gain control of a creature and then it reverts to the opponent, causing the creature to behave as though it was just brought into play?

    There is also a issue when u lose ur supposed to get 50 blue gems and you don't and this happened to me quite a few time in the event please fix asap

    The issue with losing in the node event is still there and needs to be fixed as we are not getting our rewards from losing I have met toned this to support and here on the forms with no help in getting anywhere but the run around we need this fixed

    Unless the wording is misleading, this isn't working. When cast, it gives lifelink to creatures on the board currently and then spawns the plains elementals (which is what it always did).

    Also, on the topic of unfixed things, Lilliana's Grave Mist and Jayce's Mind Sculpt activation gems will have no effect after several turns (this is a bug over many updates still!). I'd post this in bugs, but it has been posted many times by several people and isn't addressed.
